Well... I think that this is a good piece to start modding. Rationale behind: Omega genuine case is close to 800USD for this model... Here's the breakdown of mods that I will do/won't do:

Watch can be obtained from various dealer. I paid about 200USD from angel001a (I sold my previous one to my friend).

DO:
1. Movement transplant: ETA7750 normal layout (Just paid U$238 shipped, thanks Seadweller for purchasing my SFSO). This will fix wrong datefont too.
2. Genuine Subdial hand and Chrono second hand: the rep hands aren't compatible with ETA7750 so I have to buy genuine hand (~40USD).
3. Genuine Dial: Since I have just obtained another genuine dial, this I will put on. Scratches on it but it's genuine :) (the rep dial to me is extremely good) (U$100).
4. Genuine Omega Buckle: U$20, pairing it with genuine sharkskin strap.

DONT:
1. Buy Genuine Hour and Minute Hands (the rep comes with Superlumed hand, save your money on this one).
2. Buy Crown, Crown Tube. (wait till the rep failed).
3. Buy Genuine Pushers (2*60USD): not cheap.
4. Buy genuine bracelet: $400++ not cheap.
5. Buy genuine Bezel: again... not cheap

When have more money, I will consider buying those on the DONT's list.

Just wait the final result peep :p

I'm considering doing exactly this mod to my SMP Chrono.

Where did you get the chrono and seconds hands at? That's the only thing stopping me right now.....\

Also, I'd recommend getting the inside of the crystal AR coated. The gen doesn't have this, but look at the difference it makes, the dial just pops and the waves are much more beautiful:

Your datefont looks correct. Have you changed your movement? The parts can be obtained from ofrei.

The rep dial is very very good. The genuine not that worth it (as opposed to Planet Ocean, which the dial is dead giveaway).

I am halfway through the same project. Waiting 3 to 4 weeks for my chrono seconds hand from Ofrei. Also I think I mucked up the keyless works somewhere along the line, so a rebuild of that is coming...

I am gonna sell the rep Asian 7750. Should be good for parts.

@subzero... got it, yours is still Asian 7750 but with correct datefont. My suggestion, no need to mod at all! You are lucky to get that piece. Use your money to get a genuine rubber/kevlar for your watch instead of pouring your money on ETA7750. If mine comes with correct datefont, I won't do the mod ^^

Well... Just gotten a genuine ETA7750 with 25 jewels off the bay. It arrived today. Upon inspecting it, you can straight away tell that this movement is indeed Swiss Made. Paid for ~250USD shipped (lower than ofrei's price). Installed a genuine dial SMP.

The inner bezel ring has 4 protruding feed that you need to sand paper it down. Finally gen dial installed... Now waiting for the hands.... I will update you guys again. Datefont is fixed now ^^

Notice the "m" on Seamaster cursive writing. Simply the printing on rep dial is not sharp enough; thus making it looks like and "n"

---UPDATE---

I just installed the rep hands onto this movement. The only hands that does not fit genuine 7750 is the centre Chrono Second counter hand.

The project so far: It is 2307 that's why date is off centre. Awaiting chrono second hand... The rest fits nicely;.

Taka...
Let me know when you want to do the "don't" list...I have an independent watchmaker in my
town through his connections was able to get a direct account with Omega. So he periodically orders
stuff...I know on hand he's got a couple of bezel inserts and a titanium case for the smp chrono...
Only problem is he orders stuff when he needs stuff...not when i need stuff...so sometimes i have to
wait awhile...i'm waiting on a gen rubber strap for my PO...

@dhk: thanks for the heads up. IMHO ofrei offers convenience (with waiting time of course) at higher price.

Nice job Taka. I'm doing the same thing, just waiting for my dial to come in. Any info on swaping the entire bezel. I PMed ziggy and he wasn't too sure it was doable? or do I just extract the bezel insert?

@iluv: You may wish to just extract the bezel insert. Be careful when gluing it back. Don't glue it excessively or you are risking whole bezel+ case.
