was it to test us "rep guys" on our knowledge of gens? i know most of the people on trf think all rep owners are just a few clicks away from scamming someone out of their money with our "cheap chinese fakes", and know nothing about gen watches but in reality we know more about watches in general than most high end gen owners, especially the "internet experts" over on trf, most of whom are usually just jumping on the "omg it's fake" bandwagon to look cool to the others.

Just came back from making the deal with the kid for the yachtmaster. It was pretty beaten up. According to the kid, grandpa used it as a tool watch. Pictures to follow. I bargained him down from $400.00 to $300.00
Why is everyone calling me a troll? I'm just a noob who trying to learn like everyone else. The corrosion you see on the watch, I'm told is from grandpa using it when he was sailing. Isn't this normal on a real tool watch?
Unless there was a special "vintage" version of the YM that I'm not aware of, the date window is too small and too square, the date wheel lettering is off, the dial markers are too small, the rehaut is too wokky and it's missing the signature red second hand and red YM dial lettering. Plus the Rolex crown on the bracelet doesn't look very gen like to me. And, I'm not sure but I think the YM bracelet had the crown on the flip lok.

I just checked and there is no discussion about this thread on that forum like some conspiracy theorists here allege. If I was an owner of a real Rolex, I would be a member there instead of here.:thinking:
