The Netherlands 🇳🇱
In The Netherlands its the same as in most European countries, packages are *not* opened, sometimes you pay a small VaT amount and that’s it.

‘Watches are destroyed’ is imo an incident based storyline that I do not hear much about, maybe sometimes in ConUS but not in EU. Other members feel free to chime in

Like I said. It happend with one M2M from Switzerland and in the times before I knew RWI, this happend to several direct shipments from China - all AliExpress, so no problem for me, because Alis dispute system grants you payback in case of problems with the customs.

But of course I not only order Reps ;-)
Parcels from my friends in Thailand and China are controlled (and opened) by the customs on a regular base. And from my hundreds of AEX-Orders around two dozens where opened by the customs. But all of this packages where sent direct (the AEX-shipments via PostNL). I never had problems with 4px or the new Cainiao-Sytem that has IOSS implemented.

with 4px the VAT is already paid by td in China? do not pay anything on delivery to the courier? but the TD who uses 4px as a shipping method at the time of payment must ask you to pay something more than VAT or do you have to ask if he has an ioss account?

I dont know the details. But with 4px you get the shipment technically from your own country. Everything that has something to do with customs or VAT is in a "black box" between China and your country ;-)

I had 2 m2m packages with dhl both of them were hvs packages worth a few grand each. 1 package from the UK was marked as 10gbp value, broken watch they charged me 40 euro import and vat. The second package was from the US valued like 15 usd watch parts (they were gen rolex parts) they charged me like 5 euro!!

Both of them were openend also stated on the package that they openend it!! I just paid the damn fee and got my stuff.
