So, I did some research and found occb2 topic in regards to his GMT build, using a genuine 16700 case and a modified yuki/sh 3135 to 3175 conversion.
I read that the 3135 and 3175 have the same stem height and general dimensions, so technically a 3175 can fit a 3135 case.
I took that info, and started sourcing parts.
Tickleshoes was kind enough to service and build my 3175.
I purchased a gen-spec 16610 case, and had it heavily laser welded, then modified and shaped for the correct(ish) crown guards of the 16700/16700. Jonj480 was a mad man with the shaping and polishing.
I then sourced a matching set of hands and a genuine luminova dial. A genuine insert and crown were added as well.
As far as I know this is the first CHS gen spec 5 digit GMT ever build. I may be wrong, but I don’t recall ever seeing one.
Pictures incoming.
