Somebody needs to get one of those movements and tear it down to see if it's any good. It's a good likeness to a 3135, but is it reliable? Wonder how much?

It will only be a game changer if its dimensions are true 1:1 gen spec. But that would mean:

1: Straight drop in to both vintage and modern cases designed for gen movement (Yuki/J&W/Phong) ergo no movement spacer needed (yay!).
2: Gen dial and hands without modifications
3: Stem height issues with Rolex reps for crown position would be fixed
4: No more wokky rehauts due to gen dial size

But would also mean:

1: Current rep dials and hands meant for 21j/ETA would no longer fit
2: Low availability of movement parts if there is issues
3: ehm, struggling for negatives actually :p

The micro adjuster looks suspiciously like an ETA/clone.

But it appears to be the same size as gen. Note there is no spacer ring. Almost there! I hope they fix the location of the printing under the rotor and get the color right.

I'm a humble noob and has zero knowledge on rolex. Does this mean even if its Asian it will be better than Swiss ETA coz it actually clones the gen rolex movement? Enlighten me please.

No, almost definitely not. But there are advantages to having a 1:1 dimensioned rolex clone movement that are listed above. Genuine swiss movements will probably always be better than anything the chinese can produce.

Looks like they are giving it a good effort, but I'll stick to ETA based reps. While they can clone the movement, they can't clone the Rolex quality control. Ultimately, the real advantage here would being able to use gen dials and hands. Maybe. This movement only resembles a 3135, it wouldn't fool an AD.

Some excellent points that schooled me on why someone would want to go this route. Thanks for the edumacation. :)

Is that dirt on the gear to the right of the big gold gear? Looks nasty.

I wish it has a case like the tw best or the wm9...

If this movement proves to be reliable and can be modded to be more accurate visually to the real deal...I'd buy the whole watch as a donor for a Wm9.

Keep in mind that the Seagull movments which are ETA clones are as good and some say better than the ETA's they are based on. I have said before it would only be a matter of time before they would copy the 3135... If they do it right and true 1:1 the possibilities in just repair parts alone could make the factory huge profits. Especially since Rolex is being so stingy with parts accounts.

I'll buy one of these just to play with it. I can not tell for sure but it appears that the LV may have gen construction. The crystal appears to be mounted like a gen / BK TW/ WM9. The clasp coronet is the same as the one on my BK TW (accurate) and SEL fit looks great.

BTW, is it me or does that crown position look low for a 3135?

That's a great watch! Love the LV ... My Asian 2836 from Timeshops gets a lot of wrist time and is very reliable ... Also, I couldn't beat the price!

are not Rolex 3135 movements regulated via microstella screws on the balance wheel and NOT an adjuster arm? what about the blue parachrome hairspring? one look at this movement and anyone with some decent Rolex movement knowledge nails this as a copy. what's different between this and the previous 3135 copy? but i think the more important question is...what's the point in the first place?
