Anyone know how long it usually takes from Germany to UK - I've been waiting for an Omega, it's been a couple of weeks since it left Germany - not been able to get any tracking info since then. I'm not worried yet, but would have thourght it would have been here by now as its all EU.

Shouldnt be anymore than a couple of days I had 48 hours from Spain and same from Belgium so I guess Germany should be similar although it depends how it was sent

Thanks Mambo & Rich :) I'm delighted with my purchase but I think I will wait till after the Olympics before I expand my collection with the way things have been going.

My fine taste is surpassed only by my slender means so as you can imagine I'm thrilled that I found the quality of my first purchase surpassed my expectations and I can now enjoy (something approximating) watches I've only ever dreamed of owning.

Now where's that cigar I picked up with my cane?.... A-ha!:maty:

OKay just thought I'd add my UK Customs woes to this thread. I ordered a Red 1680 and Hulk from Trevor right at the start of June. Apparently it arrived in the U.K. via EMS on 8th June - 'handed over to customs'. Almost three weeks later and no sign of it clearing U.K. Customs. Not good.

The Parcel Force website has a 'contact us' link on it's track and trace website. I'm wondering whether it's worth getting in touch with them as this is getting silly now. What do you guys reckon...?

It will only get worse as the games get closer. HM Customs is on a jag and it won't end until the closing ceremony is a happy memory.

It must be one hell of a backlog. I'm beginning to think I'm not going to see the package. Would I have received a seizure letter by now?? Has anybody had their watches confiscated by U.K. Customs?

Very rare mate. At worst every now and again they charge a duty but I think they are too busy to worry much ATM

Thanks for the reassurance matey. The annoying thing is the 1680 is a returned faulty piece that needed a replacement movement (good effort by Trevor by the way - the watch was six months old). I fitted a gen crown so I definitely don't want this one going AWAL.

I used the parcel force contact us link/email and after 14 days it was released just fine. Not sure if the email helped but it did pop out the very next day. Like you I was getting worried that it was seized. Seems just a large backlog.

Hi all,

The company I work for does quite a lot at the international parcelforce hub. Recent inspection and interventions by head honchos at HMRC have made it far more difficult for packages to get inside the UK. Every international package will get put through X-RAY and if there is anything that appears of value or not deemed ok to enter, it will be stopped and checked. There may even be a possibility that items are checked for authenticity an not to be counterfeit. This as I say is a recent development and as far as I have know packages coming in from NON EU are certainly more liable to be closely inspected an if investigation works have to be carried out this will of course be the reason your shipment will be held in the customs clearance area for a longer period of time. As you will all know of any items are found to be not authentic they will be disposed of and the receivers address should receive a letter stating this. I would recommend that NO ONE replies to this letter and if you decide to reply denies all responsibility of shipment and any knowing of what it was being shipped to you.

As far as I know the Olympics has nothing to do with the HMRC belt tightening, it's purely a kick up the arse from the senior end of the chain.

Let's hope it starts to relax and what I have heard is a rumour!! Though my sources there are pretty reliable.

Good luck to all
Chris.

Thanks for the heads up Chris.

Not what I wanted to hear though. I may try the 'contact us' link on Parcelforce as I've got nothing to lose now. It's been almost four weeks at UK Customs ;-(

Mind you I thought I would've had a letter by now. Strange. Does anyone know if Trevor has a non-delivery refund policy?

Just FYI: Unless things have changed within the last couple of months, UK customs policy is NOT to stop small quantities of counterfeit items unless they have received a seizure request from the copyright holder relating to THAT PARTICULAR SHIPMENT.

The above comes from a source inside UK customs. :)

That could be the case. As I said, I'm only relaying what I have heard at this specific parcelforce hub, due to the quantity of dodgy/counterfeit Chinese imports that enter here as 99% of EMS and china post tracked items get delivered the UK end by parcelforce.

Of course there will be many manufacturers that have seizure requests in place with HMRC to look out for there products and seize and destroy them. Not only do they help limit the manufacturers by removing counterfeits from circulation, they also in turn charge the manufacturers a duty I would guess for this service. It's a win win situation.

I think it is just pot luck and down to how much of a back log there is and how motivated the guys on shift are feeling. My last watch took 10 days just after the double bank holiday, however, I've just had one clear customs in under 3 days - arrvied on 23:45 on the 1st and cleared today (3rd) at 11:09.

The only downside is that I thought it would take ages, so bought a Rolex rep from Narikaa to take my mind off it last week, and now my PAM292M will be here tomorrow!

(excuse my bad English)
