He was asking $6K for the Ulysse and $6.5K for the GP.

What do ya all think?

Anyways enjoy the lame pics. Need to get a DSLR para ya!

Cheers!

yesterday I've read in the newspaper that in Croatia they stole Montblanc watches of a value of 50+K...

I'd never buy a watch I suspected of being stolen.

That said, I'd get them authenticated before even considering their purchase.

Having said that neither of those watches "do" anything for me. Plus they both look a bit cheesy. I suspect reps, but it's hard to tell from your crappy pics. :p

I wouldn't spend $6K on either of those watches, and I wouldn't buy a $6K watch at any place besides an AD or a proven/trusted seller.

Who is this "guy" and how did he come across these two watches? Did they "fall off the back of a truck"?

Well that's why I love this forum. No one is here just to hear nice words, just the bitter truth!

On the other hand, I suspected they were reps too... but the engines are good, rotors are engraved (although they looked like 7750). So unless there is a super factory doing super reps, and I mean suuuuuuper for all the details in workmanship and finish, they are gens without papers.

This guy said that he obtained them through a deal with someone that owed him money or something...

Anyway... I just liked the Ulysse but not dying for it. It's just a nice watch.

OOOOOHH and please excuse the SUPER CRAPPY PICS! I have no camera at the moment but my phone.

Cheers!

+ 1 here, only in a AD.

Even at $2000-$3000. It's a lot of money, don't take this risk.

I was kidding about the crappy pics, btw (hence the raspberries smiley). Mine aren't any better.

I just meant without clear, hi-res pics, it's tough to tell.

Oh, and engraved rotors aren't anything new. Lots of auto PAMs, even closed-back models, have Panerai engravings on the rotors. Don't ask me why the "super reps" like the HBB don't have them. They sure as hell should for the price people are paying!

GP is not a rep... But you are going to pay too much for it.

The UN doesnt look fake either. The movement looks gen in the pic. But a better pic could prove otherwise.

Reason being not fake:
It has running second at 3 o clock (genuine movement, Dubuis Depraz chrono module). Despite fuzzy picture, datefont looks correct. <-- pretty hard on that one but the first point alone guarantee for the watch being authentic.
