was at the grocery store and while perusing the cakes in the bakery section i saw this middle aged guy with his wife looking at the bun section. i immediately caught the Sub on his wrist but it had one of the newer oyster bracelets with the polished center links, just like my GMT. made sure i got a good look at the bezel to confirm it wasn't a GMT, Sub for sure. if i'm not mistaken a black faced standard Sub with that bracelet is not a reality for a gen.
i felt so smug standing there wearing my rep Aquaracer...teehee.
or perhaps not....

That doesn't mean it was a rep. Gen owners change stuff out all the time.

Maybe what gave it away is the fact that he was in the bun section

I can say that I have never "called out" a rep, although I am sure I have seen plenty. In my opinion most are reps if they are on young folks. Living in a big city, I see plenty of folks with $10-20K time pieces on. There is very little chance that most can afford that much of their income on a watch.

Even if I notice a watch I usually compliment it. Rep or gen regardless.

FM - how hard would it be to change the T to a W in "certified"

almost no one would see this secret RWI in a "OFFICIALLY CERWIFIED" sub

I vote for this with SUBMARINER and a red dot on the seconds hand

each member buying one gets a unique number

huh huh?
