I’ve known SpongeBob for a long time, and in all that time, I’ve never heard of anyone actually getting scammed by him. Yes, he’s got a backlog, and yes, he’s working through it—but it’s important that we try to share the full picture here for the benefit of the entire community.
For example, Francoboy had issues with delays and rightly voiced his concerns—but once he received his order, he placed another one. That says a lot.
SoFloGuy’s builds are reportedly complete (and I believe he’s been kept in the loop).
Steve is a good guy and a hard worker. Is his communication always great? No. Are things sometimes slow? Definitely. But calling it a scam is a stretch.
One key point to remember is this: he doesn’t take any payment upfront. No deposit, no money until the build is done. That’s not typical behavior from someone trying to rip people off.
If you value his craftsmanship, you’ve got to be prepared to wait—sometimes for quite a while. But let’s also encourage those who have received their builds to speak up and share their experience, to give a more balanced view to new or worried members.
