I’ve known SpongeBob for a long time, and in all that time, I’ve never heard of anyone actually getting scammed by him. Yes, he’s got a backlog, and yes, he’s working through it—but it’s important that we try to share the full picture here for the benefit of the entire community.

For example, Francoboy had issues with delays and rightly voiced his concerns—but once he received his order, he placed another one. That says a lot.

SoFloGuy’s builds are reportedly complete (and I believe he’s been kept in the loop).

Steve is a good guy and a hard worker. Is his communication always great? No. Are things sometimes slow? Definitely. But calling it a scam is a stretch.

One key point to remember is this: he doesn’t take any payment upfront. No deposit, no money until the build is done. That’s not typical behavior from someone trying to rip people off.

If you value his craftsmanship, you’ve got to be prepared to wait—sometimes for quite a while. But let’s also encourage those who have received their builds to speak up and share their experience, to give a more balanced view to new or worried members.

Considering the number of people that have outstanding work with him that have posted here, I don't think it out of line for him to take 10 minutes and just say hey all I am currently running about x number of months behind my planned schedule. Also, if he's having difficulty with what he's currently got in-house, it baffles me that he would take on additional work. I understand customizing takes time and it's difficult to estimate. This would be why you limit how many of this type of work you have in house at one time. Better to have a small number of well done pieces and happy customers than this slow growing disaster. To my knowledge, no one is complaining about his work in the past. The concern is now if he's rushing we're going to end up with a similar situation to a couple of his contemporaries like osacom. @Spongebob can you just give more than a brush off post and just let everyone know what the current situation is?

.... And yes, we can see that you are reading this thread currently @Spongebob so you are well aware of the situation. Best to just make a statement and get the cards on the table.

Dear all

Thanks for all the attention to my situation and sorry about the waste of resources here.

I contacted the members who place me orders, some of them got their builds and some builds are still in progrss. Im doing my best to complete them and keep the quality the same as what i did for the others previously, so please give me some time for all the unfinished builds, or i can refund, or return the watch if anyone doesnt want the build anymore.

I work alone, dont have any team, or employee, every watch i build are built by myself and all these customize works are time consuming, so i do them slow and not efficiency, I'm just trying to provide good stuff for the watch owner, this cause a lot of stress to myself and i feel kind of depress when ppl asking about the progress, thats the main reason causing this mess, but im not trying to scam anyone, im hoest to everyone in this game and i will do the same in the future. I know my explanation doesn't satisfy everyone, but i do what i can do! So if any one havent received your build and i havent contact you, please do message me on the forum, or just whatsapp me, will settle your watch!

Thank you!

Steve

it’s important that we try to share the full picture here for the benefit of the entire community.

The full picture is that spongebob isn't contributing in any way to the 'community'. He uses RWI and places like it to make money, without contributing or participating.
Because members know he has an account on RWI they create threads like this one, they open helpdesk tickets, asking if staff know what happened to spongebob, why he doesn't answer.
If spongebob didn't have an account on RWI there wouldn't be threads like this one, and we wouldn't get helpdesk tickets asking what happened to sponge.
Spongebob needs RWI, but RWI doesn't need sponge.

I’ve always been a grateful supporter of RWI and truly appreciate everything you do. I may have missed the renewal date for my subscription—I mostly interact with clients through WhatsApp and similar messaging platforms, so I don’t log in often and it slipped past me. Apologies for the oversight, and thank you for your understanding!
