Yeah, this is my watch of which I probably need to source another crown and get it fixed. With this gap I didn't even attempt to get it wet with washing my hands.

I think it's time to think about making it a thing to only use "official" vendors for modifications, instead of "naked" user accounts (not even a 'certified' banner). 🤔
The photos I shared with my crown was from an "official" modder here.... So? 🤷🏻

I got an answer from SpongeBob but didn’t press on timing… maybe if I do he’ll start ignoring?

No he's not like that. At least for me, he didn't reply as what he's doing for me where custom or he still finding a dial maker.

Do you consider his current tact to be anything better than ignoring you? Not trying to be rude, but everything I've read points to poor communication and poor business practice. Nothing wrong with asking for periodic follow-up status.

He definitely does not seem to care how much negative information is posted here about working with him. I would have thought he would have at least posted once giving a general bit of information on how behind he is, what to expect for those waiting, etc. I understand custom work is difficult to judge, but an overall situation statement would help.

He has had two watches of mine since September 2024. Quoted 8-10 weeks.

Several messages sent without response, then indicated he would be done last week of December. Did not happen.

Late February indicated early March. Did not happen.

No response since. At this point essentially writing the watches off. Would be difficult to send a couple thousand dollars to him given what’s happened.

I can provide receipts of the above if needed.

Dear guys, sorry for all the mess i made, please contact me if your projects are not completed yet, thanks!
Your response is both predictable and captures exactly what irks me about certain service providers (both here & elsewhere).

Before taking someone's money or goods, agree a price & timeline.

Sounds simple and that's because it is.

YOU know your capacity.
YOU know your skills and YOU know how long it takes to complete the task.
YOU set the price, dictate the terms, YOUR terms & then the buyer makes and informed decision to trust YOU, or not.

If any significant deviation to that timeline, it's YOUR responsibility to communicate with the buyer to see whether the new timeline is acceptable.
If so, with agreement, proceed.
If not, refund and part ways.

This still sounds fairly basic, simple and easy to follow, well that's because it is, because it should be.

But my bet, based on seeing this so many times, far too many times, is that comms are excellent pre the actual transfer of money, all the promises etc, then it's ghosttown when looking for an actual completion date.

How dare the buyer follow up, asking for what they paid for: they will get it when they get it.

The money is essentially held hostage & I do hope you're not suffering from pre-SOVED symptoms.

I agree with @Icetruck above btw.

YOU should know what jobs are not complete & to try shift responsibility/ attention onto the buyer, well....

Why not just contact your customers yourself, give them a date when their watch will be finished and make sure it is finished on that date.
And stop taking on more customers/projects until you've cleared out you back log.
And consider becoming a Patron, you're stuffing wads of cash in your pockets thanks in large part to places like RWI.

And the GODDAMN FUCK I SUBSCRIBE TO THIS.
I am sitting here and am getting furious right know of this fucking arrogance of some modders. Its as simple as that:
If you DARE TAKEING MONEY for your goddamn job, AT LEAST MAKE A FUCKING SHEET OF DIRTY TOILET PAPER where you write down what you are working on and what the hell the status quo is.
HOW DARE YOU ask your customers they should contact you if their project is not done anymore.

Oascom, Nikz, Spongebob, I am takeing bets who is next. Sorry about me beeing angry as fuck but for me enough is enough.

Life is not the internet, one day you fuck over the wrong guy and in real life he will smash your fucking jaw.

A place of darkness and light a.k.a. EU
And like a fart in the wind, he's gone again . . .

They also call @Spongebob "the Houdini of flatulence"... silent, swift, efficient...
... And always leaving behind a lingering impression of uncomfortable odors for everyone to not enjoy.
