Bout $450Do I dare ask how much the deposit was?

I don't believe anyone's trying to say that he's outright scamming or anything of the sort. The problem is the extremely long lead times and now what appears to be virtually non-existent communication. It's a poor business practice to take on more work than you can handle and then continue to take work. If you're running 4 to 6 months behind, temporarily stop taking new pieces until you can catch up on what you currently have.My watch is with Spongebob since November and I will say he did not ask for money up front, I believe him to be a honest and genuine person who is also a family man so can appreciate he is busy, hopefully he can provide an update soon.
Who else would you recommend? So far, none of the watchmakers/modders who have agreed to take on a project for me have been long in delivering, non communicative, or taken money up front. I personally consider taking up front payment for more than materials (depending on request) as a red flag.
mods take a look into this guy
Didn’t you get you “watch police” badge in the post? Why ?
It has nothing to do with RWI staff if you send him parts, watches or money.
Already named @Spongebob and no explanation has been given.I never understand not naming, baffles me.
Feedback is valid if it is truthful and accurate, the facts are the facts, the truth irrefutable - why half say something.
By not naming & shaming, these modders/watchsmiths are placed on pedestals, free to behave the same way to others, with members afraid to say a word.
And members then wonder why these types of members end up with special banners, some of them inmates of The Brig....
To copy a mate of mines thoughts on a separate matter ...

haha.. i know exactly who you are talking about. One watch was enough for me, never again.Their is a modder I would not mention too, who has very good work but has a rather strange attitude / personality. Got famous and feels like he is doing you a favor even if you pay him. I asked an update once and I got an essay telling me to respect his time frame and he will contact me once ready and not when I ask.. its bizzare. You then have to accept everything as he has your money and watch.![]()
TBH.. unless is a throw away account like reddit, a lot of us don't wanna risk being banned or annoy the mods. Ironically reddit is more free to discuss topics like this.I never understand not naming, baffles me.

This saddens me, if someone is being honest and truthful about their experience then they have nothing to fear.TBH.. unless is a throw away account like reddit, a lot of us don't wanna risk being banned or annoy the mods. Ironically reddit is more free to discuss topics like this.
I know exactly who this is too. I have had the exact same experience. They have your watch and money so you are at their whim.haha.. i know exactly who you are talking about. One watch was enough for me, never again.
Also his work is not amazing, my 5711's crown was filed down roughly and it has gaps when tighten, but I couldn't tell at the time as there were limited non close up photos provided. He threw a tantrum when I had mentioned I had forwarded those photos it to a friend to double check my findings (i was doubting myself). where then I was told the photos were for myself only and shouldn't be shared with anyone???
There's a sub reddit on him, our experience is not unique...
