I'm moving house and badly need to generate some cashflow. I always promised myself I'd keep my two gen Omegas, but needs must  so which of the two would you keep?

The Speedy Pro is a 2008 sapphire sandwich and the SMP is a 2254.50 2006 version. Both are in good nick. I'm guessing the Speedy is worth 15-20% more than the SMP although I may be wrong...

The Speedy is an icon like a Submariner. Its a must for any watch collector IMO.

Thanks for the input guys. The Speedy was also my wedding watch so I really shouldn't sell it. But I love the slim fit of the SMP and the fact that it is no longer available.

Do we think the 2254.50 will continue to increase in resale value over the next year or has it peaked?

Like someone said above... It's against WIS law to sell the Speedmaster. LOL

On serious matter, I had the same problem as you did, I had both the Speedmaster and the Bond Seamaster... and I kept the Speedmaster for some several reasons,
-I found it more comfortable to wear than the SMP (I don't know why)
- Black goes with almost anything you wear. (both of yours are black LOL)
-It's more of an icon that the SMP.
-It has more heritage than the SMP.
And last but not least, it's a hell of a beautiful watch.

So I'd keep the Speedmaster :)

Mine says hi :)

It's certainly a dilemma - but if you were look back in future which one are you most likely to regret selling......

I know in my case it would be the speedmaster!

The Sub is a TC 16610 with rehaut engraving removed and a gen insert added (complete with scratch!). The Santos is an 'Ultimate' running on an Asian 2836 and is supposed to be my dress watch, albeit a slightly chunky one.

Interesting that on TZ UK and WUS most of the members are advising me to keep the SMP as it has been discontinued whereas the Speedy will be available for many years to come.

How do you reckon I'd get for my left kidney?!

personally i would keep the smp..because i like dive watches the most. plus its a classic!
But you said the speedy is your wedding watch and all, then you just cant sell it because of the emotional luggage it carries imo.

There is a point in that the discontinued 2254 will be much harder to pick up in the minty condition that yours is in in future, minty ones have a premium, lots of well beat up ones around. The speedmaster is a classic but you could always pick one up in great condition again. That is a great collection though, could you not sell off household stuff instead :D

I regret selling my Gen speedy, if the others you've included are to be considered i would loose the Cartier. Just my opinion.

Keep the Speedy! The SMP, as an automatic sports diver, covers ground that you've already got covered by the Submariner; the Speedy - as a manual wind chronograph - is a completely different beast.
