Ok, I think I understand.

No I don't think you do, because I don't understand either. What the original post was trying to articulate is that the lower sub-dial has been printed smaller to prevent it from 'bleeding' into the hash marks around the outer edge of the dial. Overlap is the issue, not 'bleeding' which is moot anyway, considering the arms long length list of all that is wrong with these watches when compared to a genuine 4 digit Daytona.

Yes you are right, i confused the hands loose with the “bleeding” meaning
Infact bleeding means that the @6 subdial bleeds into the outer ring of the dial.

Gen-Like dials (vj72) are like that:

And low end rep dials (st19) are like that:

You can also find some st19 slightly better dial where the bottom part of the @6 subdial is “cut” so that it does not reach the outer ring, so it doesn’t bleed :) but the shape of the circle is nomore perfectly round… like that:

If I can put it.

Old JKF = the subdial size was more accurate to gen (bigger) but this caused it to push into the marks around the dial. I don't think these are made anymore unless someone can correct me.

New JKF = they solved it by making the subdial size smaller. Which kind of kills the aesthetic of the watch for me since the big subdials are the point of the 4 digit Daytonas.

Also there's the bezel, case size, case shape, crown, pushers, crystal, etc, but if you can't see these yet then it's no issue

These are really fun for the price and gives you a "feeling" of the vintage Daytona on wrist but if you start nitpicking into the details or even do a basic 1 hour research you'll find the many issues.

Yes, you are right :)
If we take care of details we will never be satisfied with st19 base watch… best attempt to have the most gen like with a st19 base is to reshape the case and change dial, bezel, glass, pushers and crown… the cost is about 1000/1500 depending on the quality of the parts you choose.

It's a lot of work but IT’S STILL CHEAPER THAN JUST BUYING THE MOVEMENT FOR A VJ72 :D :D
and that says a lot about the quality of the final build :)
