Always the Gshock. Cheap. Dependable. Solid. Damn near indestructible. And man does that light work well as a sneaky, "where the frak did I put my spork in my pack?" torch.

We used a variety of different watches. And they were all quartz.

And there you have it!

G Shock is the choice of most special warfare groups throughout the world.

All of this Crap about Luminox and others is complete BS. Lots of others have been tried but everyone loves the Casio. In my early days in the USN as a Diver, we were issued Tudors. They took them away from us in 1984.

BTW, Here is what some of the real SPECWAR guys think. Cant vouch for SAS but the SEAL's all pretty much use the G Shock or Suunto Vector. Anyone that has a BTDT "Been there Done that" beneath their username is a real SEAL.

It may have been mentioned already, but the Luminox ANU is probably the closest thing to your intention with the initial question.

I checked it it out in person (Cabelas carries them) and it's pretty bad-ass. I'm just too much of a snob and need an auto. I thought if it was an ETA quartz an ETA auto might drop in but I'm not sure.

i've been searching around looking for a high end version of some of the watches that spec ops use, or potentially just a high end that they might use. Does anyone know of any brands that are specifically used by special forces throughout the world?

Thanks,
