Sources for 18k gold and tungsten watches

I believe many members here like myself wants tungsten/18k gold watches. The feeling of having a weighted watch is different than stainless steel watches. This is especially true when you buy reps that are plated gold but don’t carry the weight, and although it looks great, the feeling is just different. I’m making this post here so we can all share our sources on where to get tungsten and 18k gold reps. For starters, a veteran in the community and I believe most of you already know, @legend can custom 18k solid gold reps and even platinum reps. From watches like Audemars Piguet to Rolex and Patek. I have checked with him his prices before and it’s very reasonable. I have seen samples of his work and it’s amazing good, and I’m planning to get a solid gold rep daytona from him after I have saved enough funds. Another vendor who is starting to produce tungsten reps is @xingpatrick . I believe he is supplying it through his USA counterpart @xing_david . There is a post on their sub forum so you guys can check it out. Do share your sources for 18k or tungsten watch reps / watch parts / watch cases. We need to get this going!

Another reputed vendor I know that does 18k solid gold watches is @AMF . Also do note that as prices of gold fluctuates, these vendors and members that I have mentioned quote prices for the watches based on the prevailing prices for the precious metals involved.

Great initiative!! I have high hopes on @xing_david tungsten Daytona cases. Hopefully they will be available in YG/WG colours or possible to replate.

We’ll see if and when CF launches their version.

You can ask them individually for their prices but the factors includes type of precious metal (gold/platinum), amount of material used (oyster flex Daytona vs full metal Daytona), prevailing gold rate (this is important when they determine the price), complexity of the project (simple daytona or Patek nautilus with many complications), various other parts involved (the dial, the movement, hands etc. And are you going to use any gen parts? Because gen parts will make the price higher too. And also are you sourcing those parts or will your modder help you source?)

I can only give you a ballpark figure. I have asked about platinum Daytona, full metal gold daytona and oyster flex gold daytona. Prices range from 8k USD to 20k USD. You have to ask the modder of your choice on the type of watch you want and they will give you a specific quote.

I wonder . . . sometimes, some old GEN gold cased watches come up for sale on eBay. Not Rolex, mind you, but no name watches. What do you think . . . it make sense to snap one up, perhaps with defective movement, and use the case for a fantasy built, with Swiss ETA and a custom dial?

You can do that but it still won’t come cheap. And you definitely won’t be able to find modern rolex/AP/PP cases.

Very interesting finding. If going for a 18k gold watch rep, I would go for a gold case and leather strap. That will reduce the price of the initial investment. Having a tungsten watch case chipped after dropping the watch, I would stay away from tungsten. Even though tungsten is scratchproof, it is actually quite brittle

Yes. I drop my tungsten carbide Lum-Tec watch and the bezel chipped off. It happened during the 3rd month of ownership. Tungsten watch is off my list now.
