The people who are complaining about their watch being noisey........do you guys own any other automatic wind watch?

ive owned dozens of automatic watches and never had this as a complaint.

I guess I would correct my previous statement. I wouldn't call any of them noisey. They are quiet, but they do make a sound. I just think some people are more sensitive than others.

TD got my video and is sure it's just the rotor screw that has come loose. Should be an easy fix then :)

Any idea how to attach this? I just can't get the small ring to lock in and hold the rotor in place.....

Now I see it. Not 100% sure on that one but it appears that it's a press fit that is possibly held in with a circlip. You need to take the rotor off with the center screw and take a good look at the 3 pieces and figure out how they are held together. My guess is that the rotor is pressed down over the center bearing and some how held together with that circular clip laying over on the right side. Maybe even you can assemble it in place. It seems the circlip probably goes on the top over the rotor to hold it together.

Thanks KBH. I tried pressing the circular clip on and got it to stay on for a few hours but it came apart again. I'll have another go.

You may be better off taking the whole rotor and bearing off the movement. It probably takes quite a bit of pressure to get it all the way down to where the circlip will snap into place.

My TD says it's a broken rotor and he will send out a replacement. Great :)

A replacement of the complete watch or only the rotor.
Because your rotor seems perfect. Just disassembled
With a new rotor maybe you will get the same

I have been offered a replacement of the rotor.... I have happily accepted. For now in just winding it manually and it's working nicely. I'll let you know when it is all fixed up.

A Watchsmith is an artisan who makes and repairs watches. Since a majority of watches are now factory made, most modern watchmakers only repair watches. However, originally they were master craftsmen who built watches, including all their parts, by hand. Whereas a Locksmith can create keys and other opening devices at very short notice and quickly. A professional locksmith is likely to be very important to you when you least expect or when it's urgent as well as at times that are not urgent.
