Sometimes its NOT the watch that gives it away.......Its the wearer.

OP you said a few pages back that you wouldn't spend 500-1000 on a rep. You can get a killer rep for that. I have a an AP V6 full vac modded that was within that range. its absolutely incredible.

Also, who says you cant have both? you can have some gens and some reps. This whole world of ours is a gray area and you seem only want to point out the black and white.

You came across pretty brash. like the drunk guy in the bar who bumps into everyone and is looking for a fight. There are a lot of pros here and a lecture is one thing they don't need.

Until the bolded part I was with you........
I'm sorry but the very idea of counterfeit watch "pros" is kind of silly.......Should we respect them as such? After all at the end of the day they are making counterfeit watches that are illegal to sell in most countries, Even where they are made So a "pro" would be equivalent to a very skilled criminal at the end of the day, Let's not try to put this thing on the same level as a high art. It is what it is.

Look at the sophomoric posts in this thread. The wearers of these watches apparently are very young,

A bunch of people trying to broadcast what they are not. People say Rolex is not worth it. Well then don't buy it. But it is worth wearing and "fooling" the world.. Can't bring yourself to buy a Steinhart? Its like wearing a bad hairpiece. They Don't want to get outed either

As for APs I don't like their style so I would not buy them real or faux. Maybe wearing a name brand makes one "feel" better about themselves. I don't know. . Some of the other brands are interesting but again I would check the real version's value before deciding to wear the counterfeit version.

There are people who wear the real thing that leave them at home in certain circles too, Especially around people who are struggling. Both sides have their issues. Even when wearing the real thing one has to be aware of their surroundings. I can see buying a very good replica IF one has the real thing like we did with my wife's wedding set. She works some nights as a musician and would rather give the zircon away to a possible robber than the real thing. IN that case I can understand wearing a rep instead of the real one. Originally that was my reason for looking for a rep of what I had.

Then I saw an Orange and Black M2M watch and being a Harley rider I bought it. I wore it once and thought it was silly and small and put it for sale here. I had a 15 year old YM I bought in NYC but never wore it after the first few weeks and being outed on a plane from five feet away, LOL

OK, now you are just a garden variety troll. Your ignorance is overwhelmingly tedious.

In this world I will consider Ignorance as Bliss. I would not feel good to know i am a "pro" at counterfeit watch wearing, Lets take the lipstick off and call them what they are. There are no "replicas" only counterfeit. This is not art . It's criminal in REALITY.

"pros" may not have been the proper term. "board veterans" may be appropriate but hopefully you got the point.

You don't have to like the ap diver, it was just an example that you can get an incredible value for under $900. especially compared to a Movado or something like that.

I know you have convinced us, but I think you may have also convinced yourself now that this hobby may not be for you. That's all it really is...

Get real there's a lot of members here that can more than afford the gens I know I personally have an issue paying 1000% mark up for an item when I can get the same thing for much less and enjoy tracking down parts and learning about the different versions it makes it much more exciting than walking into an AD and making a purchase as for your previous comments about a high art you have no idea what your talking about. This is a high art some of the builds on this forum are indistinguishable from the real deal and still cost thousands of dollars less. If you had actually spent the money on a decent sub rep and slapped a gen insert in it you probably would have sold your gen but if you insist on belittling the hobby then go to F'ing TRF and talk about how great your no date sub is and how horrible the rep world is because nobody here is impressed with A your attitude and B your ridiculous outlook on the hobby.

WOW really? $900 for a counterfeit watch? Who pays that and why? I have to give the sellers and makers kudos. They really have the hook in deep. $900....wow. That would buy a really great TAG. or Victorinox

Ignorance of this forum. For example:

I do not own a rep. I am older than most forum members, and as old as many of their fathers. And so forth.

I bought my last car (SL550) wearing the clothes i painted my studio with. Got a call that the car i have been waiting for arrived and bought it within an hour. My dad got his car (CL 600) while in ripped jeans and a work shirt.

Im now a salesmen at a benz dealership and the gentleman i sold the SLS Black to was dressed in normal clothes.

@King, people with money dont always wear expensive things, nor live extravagant lifestyles.

I have guys that come into the dealership that don't look like they could finance a stick of gum and pay cash for a Benz. Don't judge a book by its cover.
