It is worth it, or we wouldn't be doing it.
I love watches. I also made it a point in my life to pay for objects and not names. I'll build anything from scratch instead of purchasing it assembled if it means better quality or a lower price. Why pay $6k for an Alienware PC when you can build one with the same specs for under $2k?
I have a hard time accepting that something like an AP diver has $15,000 more work, time, and effort in it than your everyday brand name automatic with a SS case and AR'd sapphire. In my mind, it does not compute. I can justify $3-4k for something along those lines, and companies like Breitling, Tag, and many others offer similar quality and materials and movements in that price point. As a watch, a pretty tool to tell time, they are in no way inferior.
If I didn't get these watches as reps, I would never consider owning them. <$500 is play money. Even brand name watches in this pricepoint are a bit dodgy in quality (and likely come with the same movement as a rep, mineral crystal, no AR, no complications/chrono). Dollar for dollar, you get more watch when it's "fake".
