Thanks for that work.

My dream rep would be a pam796 : Destro, 44mm, Bettarini, Black sandwichDial, transparent caseback
Do you know if it does exist in superrep ?

Does a kind of Destro PAM111 exist ?

Yes of course, I know.
796 - no, instead of 111, you have to choose 219, although there is no second hand, or 022 "B" from the DSN if you can get it, but it has a sausage dial, not a sandwich dial.
You can also choose 026k, but it will be black pvd, and solid casebac.
You are welcome, only sorry, you did not use the information from this work.

I don’t like 1st 111 version with painted dial and full writing on the movement

No, I’ve use your work. And it’s a really great work. Thank you for that.

The 219 is ok but did not have the small second......That’s why, for me the 796 thicks all the boxes.
The 111 had everything I like except it’s not a destro....

You’re right, 219 could be an option to 111, I’ve to choose between destro or small second...
Thanks for your work

KOT1917 Thank you so much for putting this together! Very informative! I love destro models. General thoughts on wearing a Destro on the left wrist instead of right? I suppose whatever a person is comfortable with. I prefer wearing it on my left :)

Always happy give something useful!
Thoughts are there, but they are quite individual for me.
I wear the watch high on my wrist, so I'm not too worried about how many CGs rest against the wrist.
My wrist is not large, but my hands are large, and on the part where the watch is usually worn, it has a pronounced cone shape.
On the one hand, it is good to wear a watch "as it should" when it is winter, and long sleeves of a sweater, because the sleeve cannot be tucked under the CG(although in my photo 569 it turned out lol), but if it is hidden on the contrary, then I do not like this image.
When it's summer, and short sleeves, I mostly wear destro on my left arm and regular ones on my right. This provides a neat look and a tighter fit on your wrist without the need to tighten the strap too much.
CG does not overhang, but rather presses the watch to the hand.

I don't know if I was able to convey my point clearly, but here's what I'm talking about (this is not destro, but the idea is clear):
Because of this gap, I prefer to wear them CG up, but that's just the specifics of my hands. And for a general feel, here are some photos:
In general, it's okay for me to wear it on either wrist, but on the opposite, it's a little more comfortable.

Hello, ALE7575!

First of all, I'm glad to see that you even no write, but keep an eye on what is happening.

Thank you for rating my work, it's honor for me!
I am always glad to try, and be useful or everyone who is interested.
In turn, taking this opportunity, I want to thank you for Guide, from which I began to deal with rep pams, and generally ended up on rwi.
Over time, I will definitely try to give more interesting information and thoughts for thought.

Your points were perfectly clear :). Ultimately its all about the comfort and positioning on the wrist. Thanks again for taking the time to post this thread. Its very informative and greatly appreciated!

KOT1917 an excellently researched and presented thread, congratulations! Great work.

I am right handed, but wear my watch on my right wrist, so unfortunately no PAM destros for me.

ALE7575 it is great to see you back and active in the Panerai section after ages! Welcome back.

But a destro was literally made to be worn on your right wrist. Isn't it? Have you tried and not liked them or just seem awkward?

That is correct, it is made for the right wrist, but with one catch.

Generally a watch is worn on the non-dominant wrist - so left wrist if right handed, and the right wrist if left handed.

The destro is made to be worn on the right wrist for a person who is left handed. The left dominant hand is then used to operate the CG lever/wind the watch/adjust time and etc while on the wrist (Destro CG/Crown faces towards fingers of right hand, making operation easier with the left).

With a regular PAM worn on the right wrist, a left handed person would need to take it off to operate all that ( Non-destro CG/crown faces towards the right elbow, impossible to operate with the left hand).

Now for right handed folks who wear the watch on their dominant right wrist - like me - a destro is very uncomfortable as the CG keeps digging into the wrist when flexed.
For anyone reading this who is right handed, and wears a watch on their right wrist - this is easy to experiment with - just flip your regular PAM the wrong way around on the strap, and wear it in 'destro' configuration to try it out.

A regular PAM is much more comfortable for me as the CG faces towards the elbow when on my right wrist - so no interference when flexing the wrist. I have to take it off to wind it anyway.

Your watch wearing skills are an envy for someone to yet aquire a piece - god bless and love the background !!!

Since I just joined here I am not sure if this is the right place to ask this, but I try. I had a Luminor Marina (PAM) Destro 1st series once, bought it in 1998, shortly after Panerai came out as an official brand and started selling their first watched. My PAM was a gift to myself for a personal achievement, it was from a limited series of 500 Destro watches, and if I remember correctly mine was number 045 or 046… unfortunately I had to sell it some years ago in a moment of financial emergency.

I am ambidextrous and always wore my watch on the right wrist.

Now I am trying to find a replica of that Destro. But I have no clue where from. Buying it from one of the commercial sites I find with Google seems a bad option, since most ship from outside the EU, and custom controls have increased a lot since the Pandemic. I had been in contact with Davidsen about two years ago and was about to buy a Destro from him, but he practically vanished and the deal never went through...

So, my question to you guys is: which are the good replicas, and where can I find them? thank you and please admins, be kind, I am not sure if this is the right place for this message.

Hello.

Everything is fine.
You can read about the rep destro in this thread. Not sure if I missed anything.
If you bought your gen in 1998, then it was either PAM022 steel or PAM026 steel + PVD.

At the moment, no factory produces destro pam, but m2m you can try to find any of the rep listed here, and place the WTB in the appropriate section.
PAM022 and PAM026 were done by Devidsen, you can write to him and clarify if there is anything left. Less than a year ago, I remember a post from one participant in which he said that he had just received a PAM026 B with a T dial from him.

The last one to be produced was the PAM217 XF. It has a number of problems, but it is the most recent right-handed model.

Depending on what you like better: case type, steel, titanium or PVD, you can select a model and look for it as a used one. Not right away, but you will definitely succeed.

In any case, good luck to you!

Thank you so much for this.
The crux is exactly that, you write so kindly that I "can try to find any of the rep listed here, and place the WTB in the appropriate section." Which one is that?
Also, the email I had from two years ago for Davidsen (or Devidsan, which sounds almost Japanese) is not working anymore, I received a "delivery impossible" message right now - do you have a more recent one and could send that to me via PM?
Again, thanks so much, I really do appreciate this.
