some Rolex LV questions

u know i have a hard time finding any info on this. I see lots for sale. I talk to the GEN AD guys and they wave their hands in the air and tell me it's for VIP folks only. Why the heck are so many being sold @ grey market.

Is it really a limited edition? cuz there's a lot used out there.

secondly, do AD's really only get 6 of these a year? feels like oen of those "U know, i have on in the safe in the back i was keeping for a member that said he was going to pick it up this morning, but if he doesnt, it's yours!" bullshit?

Wiki says squat.

Yes it's bullshit. Ample of this watch in Singapore, readily available at retail price (gotta agree that discount on this model is nearly impossible). Wempe Germany can order for you too... pretty fast time.

That VIP thingy... Just marketing gimmick. Show them the cash! They will order it straight and you have it by next 2 weeks.

my ad called me about 3 or 4 weeks ago trying to sell me one. they are every where as far as i can tell and the market is slowing on them.

Being a Rolex junkie I know the answer to this. Apparently they produced a bunch of these in anticipation of the big anniversary. They were released and just laid there. Sure they moved with the collectors at first but then it dropped off bad. The Lv was in danger of becoming something that Rolex never had. A model that declined in value as it aged .So they only made a few after that to try and drive up the value. The orientals love bright colors so they do well over there. Hope this helped.

the only reason i have one was for the maxi dial and fat minute hand. if they would have done that to the black sub they wouldn't have sold but a hand full of lv's.

The Lunette Verde is not rare, nor is it a special watch...
The key to Rolex's underground success is as amenable as it's retail practices.....
The key is....Buying in Bulk....These Grey market dealers can buy 20-30 Rolex's at a time. Like Emeril before they canceled his show "BAM!" These people are the real players than buy in so much bulk THEY get first crack at the SS Daytona's, Yachtmaster 2's in all Gold....and the LV

I should probably be dead for revealing this on the net, but I trust you RWI folk here so my secret is safe.
I am not making this up....Talk to a major player in the collectible field that is in the "know" and/or a real Grey market player that can/has the means to purchase Rolex's for around @ 2500.00 a piece - at a quantity of about 20-30 and up and you'll realize the BS of Rolex. I can't find those pics I had but I modded my gen LV with a black bezel and it really looks like a diver's watch with the maxi dial...

I think this has been posted before... Even AD can get genuine Rolex at a really really good price. It's all about marketing.

For sure. I am in real good with my Ben Bridge dealer "however" they do this song and dance about how they have to check the HQ's and see if there are any in the "vault" lol
I knew they were FOS when 2 lV's came in...and I got the one with a mis aligned bezel hahaha

i read up some more on grey market, it's really interesting!

even grey market puts a high premium on teh LV :(
