It will seem weird indeed, but it’s a Panda Daytona. Something magical will happen when you put in on.

Just google « daytona on a woman wrist »
You will see.

31 is absolutely tiny. If you think the 36 was massive (it wasn't), maybe look at 34mm options in other models? Or get a 36mm DJ and if you can't get used to the size after a couple of weeks sell it on. The 31mm will be much hard to sell if you decide you don't like it.

I don't dislike it by any means, I had a 36mm watch (nothing luxury) for 10 years and loved the oversized look. I have been feeling more, understated these days, and really liked the aesthetic from this photo I found:

Fair enough, now imagine this tiny watch at 50cm away from your eyes, nevermind anyone else's... It won't matter if it has some flaws, if the bezel is not shiny enough, or if the steel is 904 or 316 (ok this one wouldn't matter anyway). Heck at this size you mostly won't be able to tell it says Rolex and it's not an homage that looks like it :p

That's the great advantage of reps. You can try 31mm, 33mm and 36mm. Keep the ones you like and pass on the others.

Firstly, Welcome to RWI. We are happy that you are here. I'm always thrilled to see more women on RWI.

Secondly, I concur with @Mkempes , if you pump up to 36mm, it will change everything for you. The variety is limitless and the quality is far superior to the 31mm models. If you get a little adventurous, I would try your luck with some of the 38mm AP models. They are very nice.

Please don't be a stranger. Jump into this hobby and have fun. Post wrist shots and jump in on discussions.

I think it's about quality for me, too, as much as it is for other's perception. If I feel it looks fake, I wonder if I'll wear it differently, or not as confidently. I know the common suggestion is to bump up the size, but I really like the 31mm, so I would like to see what I can do to make it at least close to the higher end reps, if not the real thing, of course.

Seems you are set on the DJ31
So let me take the plunge

GMF. Keep it a bit, then get a modder to put a gen white gold bezel
After some time, get gen hands

A green gen dial will be expensive and hard to find.

I'm not set on it for ever and ever! Maybe just for right now, lol, I want something a bit less ostentatious (not that the others are, just a personal vibe I have been feeling).

So - white gold bezel and gen hands, where does this bring me in scale to a higher tier rep? From a what out of 10, to what out of 10.

I don’t know how to answer your question, because as many have told you above, the base 31mm rep is not great

So speaking for me, I would never throw 1000-1500€ gen parts into such a mediocre starting point as a 31mm

In 36mm, there are absolute gems reps that need no further modding to look the part.

Hmm, maybe then I shouldn't consider the rep altogether if it's that bad starting off.

Here is the QC from someone who purchased the GMF DJ 31, thoughts?

Check this thread
Thread 'Rolex Datejust 36mm 16234 franken (gen patina dial, rafflesdial case, vr3135, unworn, RESERVED)'
https://forum.replica-watch.info/th...lesdial-case-vr3135-unworn-reserved.10999903/

And talk to @pompompurin
He makes awesome DJ

Question - I just spent sometime reading comments on modifications... Can the watch just be built from scratch, in essence? Not sure if that's astronomical, but if you can purchase the dials, case, hands etc, would it maybe make more sense, cost roughly the same as purchasing the GMF and making the modifications? I may be barking up the wrong tree, just wondering what options there are.
