Can you tell us more about this. What was involved in getting the 7753 to work?

Just a word of warning about BP A23322s. The most recent batch has the sweeping second hand with the "B" machined backwards.

Keen to know how you quick change the date on this without the pusher at the 10 position. Nice work!

As with the gen A23 Navitimer, there is no quick set date because the date pusher was not designed in. I don't understand why Breitling didn't do it, because the Montbrillant Datora and others had recessed pushers.
This was the reason why I sold my gen A23s because after a period of not wearing them, it became a chore to set the date manually.
The Fighters and the 50th Anniversary were my favourites from that era.

Jeez... These assembly line workers!

Basically the hand is back to front when the tube was inserted. If you know a watchsmith with a staking set, they can correct it.
Or you find the correct rep hands for a Navitimer:

Damn that really sucks if you want to wear the watch on 4th and date says '8th'.

So am I right in thinking you can drop the 7753 in other navitimer reps and you'll get full working chrono and no spacing issues? The only problem would essentially be the date change which would be verrryy slow?

I'm tempted to buy a 7753 and insert into one of my navitimer reps but would love a confirmation

As long as the rep Navi (or any a7750 rep) uses that modified movt with sunken date - then yes the subdials will be a match.
However - not sure if I've mentioned this already - the eta 7753 is naturally thinner than the modified a7750 (extra transfer gears etc) so the dial will want to sit lower than the rep dial did. You can fiddle this by adjustment of the clamps but as mentioned before, the stem is out of alignment...
The diameter of the movt is similar if not the same so case fitting is fine.

As for rep hands..
The rep centre chrono hand is for a larger post. So you need gen or broached rep tube.

Main hands fit OK

Subdial hands : rep are slightly larger posts than gen but can be used with a bit of ingenuity.

I prefer to use gen hands and avoid the faff of modding /breaking fragile hand sets

Yes, a bit expensive but gen hands are the only way to go. To me, the hands are the first and most obvious giveaway on a Navitimer rep. The gen hands are worlds apart from the rep.

Thanks for that, very useful! Not sure I want to go down that venture, seems a lot of work - but am curious indeed! :)

Hey OldNavitimer ,

How did you transfer the font from your JF 7750 date wheel to the 7753 gen wheel?

I love the navitimer, this KOR you posted is my favorite, but I never had the courage to buy it, because I've never seen real pictures and comments about it.

What can you say? I see the thickness is 1.1mm off the gen, the gen is 14.4 and Rep is 15.5.

What is your feeling about this watch, comparing to your other reps and your gen as well, would love to hear more about it :)

Thanks for this post!

Unfortunately not. 7753 and 7750 have date wheels of different dimensions so aren't interchangeable :(

Ah yes sorry lol I’m getting my models mixed up
