Hi guys,

I have a 14790, 15300 and 15400, amongst them the 15400 was bought m2m and came with a soft supple bracelet that does not hold it's shape too firmly.

I like that very much as I have small wrists, and wanted to replicate that with the other 2..

Does anyone have any advice on how to do it? I know an oil bath is not the solution..

.... you might try oiling it over night ... but the best will be wear it, wear it, wear it ... to soften the links.

Dr. Theo
P.S.: my 15400 and the 14790 for my wife came all with stiff bracelets that softened after some weeks of wear.

Thanks doc, I've been wearing my 14790 for months with no softening in sight. Oiling it overnight doesn't seem to make it as soft.. I suspect it's the gaps/links between or holding the links together.. The ones on the 15400 seem more rounded vs the others. Wasn't the case for my first 15400 which I sold earlier

the 14790 and 15300 rep models have shitty bracelets. The 15300 can be replaced with a 15400 bracelet. Edit: it looks like you've got a fairly old version of the 15300, no idea if the 15400 bracelet will fit. Sorry

Look at the pic I posted above, the 15400 collapses and is way more comfy then the other 2 which almost wears like a bangle of sorts

I guess the stiff version is not correct either then. My wife's watch is supported by the bracelet an also fits very comfortably. She has never complained.

The gen is meant to be soft and floppy, just like the rep 15400. I think it may just come down to the others being of poorer build quality than the rep 15400.

That's correct, judging from my friends gen.
Someday I will get him to loan it to be so I can do a comparison!

I wonder if the stiffness will get better as we wear it in? Would heating up the bracelet help?

I was thinking maybe getting it really cold actually, then give it an oil bath. The cold making the metal contract so that the oil can get into every nook and cranny ? I dont know lol sorry mate

I put some lube on it and played and stretched it the entire evening, after that it was supple enough around my wrist.

Then it was time to focus again on the bracelet. :p

I hate working with AP straps and bracelets. They are always the most difficult and problematic.
