even for normal seikos and citizens, i would ensure that the watch is in good working order before swiping my card.
heck, i would scrutinize a mbk rolex only to walk away 30 minutes later after bargaining and nip picking.
i find it hard to believe that you would simply trust someone with $850 without doing your due diligence.
besides, cracked straps and lungs can be fixed, i don't see major complaints over dead movements or scratched plexis.
