I went for this, a 39mm.
I'd been waiting for a 36mm 124270 from my local AD since it was released in 2021, but I got tired of waiting and bought something else. But the itch was still there however I wasn't willing to pay grey market prices for it so after a long time being tempted, I bought my first rep.

I was tempted with other models I could never actually afford, but I decided to go with what I wanted with the benefit of being a much simpler movement so less likely to go wrong and much cheaper to have serviced too.

I went for the 39 because I though the 36 was a little too small and the 40 too big, and I kind of wish I'd stuck to the 36 but still. I was really impressed with it too, having handled the genuine article a few times it's difficult to tell the difference!

I haven't worn up to the newest ones, with the double indices, but the previous generation (36 and 39mm) were beautiful, with very good reps offered (some NWBIG). My 39mm rhodium rep is one of my favorite daily beaters. I have it on a grey NATO and it's understated and gorgeous.

Of course, I'm also a big fan of everything vintage, and probably have a half dozen 34mm Frankens that are all gen but the movement and hands.

The nice thing about the simple OP is that you almost never get called out on it...most people don't recognize it as a Rolex, and those who do generally assume it's real, because why rep the lowest model in the lineup?

Go with the VSF Factory Submariner without Date (Less flaws as mentioned by @Stormcry

Quality of the watch from VSF direct has less flaws and also the movement usually is tested well before it exits from their QC Department too.
