@160million - thanks.

I've not discovered if gen hands will fit the Miyota ....any ideas?
according to my research:

Cartier Santos watches typically use swiss movements which have different hand sizes than Japanese Miyota 9015 movements. The pinion sizes are:

  • Miyota 9015:
    • Hour hand: 1.50 mm
    • Minute hand: 0.90 mm
    • Seconds hand: 0.25 mm
  • Typical Swiss ETA or Cartier (approximate, varies by model):
    • Hour hand: ~1.20 mm
    • Minute hand: ~0.80 mm
    • Seconds hand: ~0.20 mm

These differences mean that genuine Cartier hands may either be too tight or too loose to fit the 9015 posts securely.

Another gen dial swap done...now it glows.

Apart from the lume on the markers, the centre textured part of the dial is much more pronounced.

Snap Mr Dragon, gen dial too.

Bezel is a direct replacement....I used the bvf screws which I have, since this photo, flattened a little (vertical screws only, must do the horizontal ones too)
Would love a source for gen bezel screws.....

How does the shape of the gen bezel compared to the bvf ? I do notice the gen pvd bezel has some brushing which the rep lacks.

Once in place I can't tell the difference between then gen steel bezel and the rep steel bezel....but then I have 50(+) year old eyes!

If anyone knows someone in the states or takes business from the states, I'm trying to do the dial swap.

So far, all the watch smiths I know on here and outside of here won't touch these watches. I only know a few however. If I had the stones, I would try it myself.

This thread is great btw!! Love the pics of the Gen mods.
