I just dropped him an email to order the LN v7 extreme. Well, hopefully he still remembers me back from 2014 lol.

I want to ask where the difference between the gen and TC inserts van be seen? I has the V6 and will now build the V7 with a gen insert but cannot really differentiate..

A few people say that the insert is good enough to live with, I'm also intrigued as I don't recall seeing specific reasons I.e colour of dial inserts numbers, pearl etc.. I was thinking to go gen anyway but I will wait and see what it's like when it lands. I don't want to go get 'just because' it has to have a tangible difference

There is a difference with the pearl. When looking straight-on, The gen somehow looks like it's slightly sunken into the insert , whereas with TC, the pearl sits on top of the insert.

You are right, this is a comparison I just made of my TC V6 and gen insert

Yeah that captures it quite well. Not sure how rolex do it, because when you look at it side on, the pearl looks like it's sitting on top of the insert, but when looking at it front on, it looks sunken.
