Should I buy the new 512 ?

After a long wait for a nice 42mm, I think I am ready now to purchase my next PAM, 512 that is... However, some of my considerations are:
- Thicker case than gen.
- I already have the 372, and after a thorough look at both these watches, I began to think the 372 and 512 do really look similar.

What do you think, guys? Is it a good choice to buy 512 rather than other PAMs available, considering I already have the 372?

Well, the one obvious difference is Luminor v. Radiomir. Do you have a Radiomir? (I don't yet, but my first will be the 388.)

I'm not a huge fan of the crown guards on most PAMs so I ordered a PAM512 from Pure Time last week. I also like the less aggressive look of the Radiomir I'll let you know what it looks like when it arrives. Skip

Hopefully they will have a v2 soon. I've tried on the gen at a AD a while ago and it was smaller than I thought, nice as a dress watch though.

"mysterio" did a great review on the 512 (on a different forum). The main differences from gen were:

1. recessed CP (but even some gens are not perfectly flush)
2. lume color was a little off (you wouldn't notice I think unless the rep was side by side with the gen)
3. movement is rotated 180 (not a major problem as anyone who was familiar with the gen movement would notice it anyway)

Overall the conclusion was that it was a "first class rep of medium level".

A difference in "radiomir panerai" and "luminor panerai" dial inscriptions on two look-alike watch is not enough for me :p

Correct me if I am wrong, but I think these 512 and 372 have the same dial numbers lume color?

I'm not sure what you're comparing, but the 512 and 372 are quite different. The 512 has no crown guard, sec@6, and is 42mm. The 372 has the typical luminor crown guard, no sec@6, and is 47mm. In addition the 372 is considerably taller on the wrist then the 512. I doubt the 372 would fit under any shirt cuff while the 512 would fit under most.
these are two different watches on totally different ends of the panerai design spectrum.

Nice watch. I do prefer pam without the crown guard too. :)
