Should AliExpress Shopping have it's own sub forum?

AE is not a dealer, AE is China eBay, 10s of 1000s of dealers over whom we have no control so RWI will not be seen to be (apparently) endorsing a plethora of unknown dealers.

If you want stuff other than watches there are other companies we can talk to over whom we can exert control. That I would consider.

But these multi page threads exist, in the main forum, the one that's looked at first by newcomers, which does make them look like some sort of endorsement. I agree it's difficult for you to know what to do...Clearly the TD section is a No No...
Down in 'other dealers-buyer reviews' maybe?

My line of thinking was that a sub with proper "BUYER BEWARE" stickies would be more effective at preventing newcomers from making bad purchases.

Aliexpress has a dispute system, and in case you get royally f*cked, all it takes it one phone call to your credit card company and everything is reversed no questions asked.

This is why TDs don't like credit cards, because they have no recourse if they get defrauded for hundreds of dollars if you just lie to your cc company and say you didn't your item as advertised. What can they do, file a report with the police saying they got screwed over trying to sell counterfeit goods? On the other hand it creates a headache for us consumers.

If you want some crap cheapo $20 fake why would anyone go to a TD vs ali? It makes sense for cheap stuff and things TDs dont sell

Confusing is attempting to pay with WU online and getting denied because of fraud alerts, and having to find a WU location and fill out forms to make a few hundred dollar payment because some asshole buyers ruined paypal for certain TD's.

This 1000x. God.

I understand why the TDs can't do paypal or CC in some cases, but holy shit is it annoying to do

No one is arguing that you get better stuff from TDs. Aliexpress if for cheap chinese shit when you don't care about blowing $20 for fun.

AE is confusing? LOL. What's confusing about finding what you want and putting in your credit card number/paypal and having it delivered to your door? Are we forgetting that a lot of TDs don't even take paypal/credit card?
Yes confusing...because what you see is not what you get sometimes. There are dealers on AE selling watches and using gen pictures. That could be confusing and deceptive to a new member here at RWI being that he possibly found the link etc. here.......

There's still buyer protection on AE where you can get some money back. There have been TD's in the past that have gone shady and left buyers out to dry. (What's going on with Silix again?)

Either way, it's no secret that AE isn't the greatest for super rep watches. Some people get lucky with timepieces, most don't. As it stands, people seeing that AE Watch thread will open the thread to a fantastic Tudor watch and assume that AE is a good place to get a watch. A sub with the right stickies can give those looking to buy a reality check before diving in.

We have Accessories Now for bags, wallets etc.. If I need a wallet or something like that, I'd trust these guys to get me something quality.

As far as other stuff, we had Watch IV? for awhile. I know they sold cheap watches...didn't they sell other stuff as well....electronics, gadget like stuff? I know I bought some stuff from someone. :) Be neat to have somebody like that again

I don't think we need a whole subforum but maybe a few different threads on specific categories of stuff. Imo as long as we leave watches or any other stuff our TDs sell out of it why not. To me aliexpress is a place to go to for cheapy stuff. NOBODY should be trying to get high end reps off AE unless it's at their own risk. Our TDs only carry the cream of the crop. I've tried to buy a few higher end stuff off AE thinking I could get it for cheap. At least in my own experience the money I wasted looking for one good rep on AE I could have just picked it up from one of our TDs. Anyway I'm ranting now haha but to summarize.

1) AE is a good place to go to for cheapy stuff that one wants to experiment with.

2) As long as we are not discussing any goods you can purchase from a TD then I see no harm.

But then again this isn't my forum so I defer to the good judgement of our mods/admins

I will add though one thing AE is really good for is finding some watch straps. I picked up a leather strap for both my BR02 and SevenFriday P2 for less than 15 bucks shipped. And quality wise they are pretty good.

All of the questions here and suggestions have already been answered by the mods and administration, so lets not continue to force the issue !! .....You love AliBoomBoom, then go there yourself whoever you are. But let us be here in peace. We have our share of problems here already. ...........Nuff said..........

No and F no. You wanna talk about the rep you got on Ali, the fake purse you got on CL, the tranny you banged but didn't realize he was one then go ahead, but to suggest that Ali have its own area here is outrageous to the entire idea of this board.

For those who want a sub forum for AE, I would say start up your own discussion forum or fakebook or whatever you want and do whatever you please. This thread is more than enough.

Krispy, this board operates for reasons that should be obvious. If you fail to understand those reasons or the ideas and work that many of us have put into protecting the members here then you can't or won't understand.
