Hi Guys,

I bought a watch from the TD in China, watch keeps stopping and I need to send the watch back to china.

Royal mail is charging around 70 pounds for a trackable service :( too expensive.

Cant find EMS here in UK

Have been asked by TD not to send through DHL due to customs issue.

How do iI send it :(?

Regards

That's a tough call. I don't send them back no matter what. I just know it's the chance we take buying reps. If I receive one that has issues I just contact one of our watchsmiths and send it to them. A lot of times the price to have it fixed is about the same as to send it back and also sending it back you have a very long wait time. Up to you though. I just choose not to send them back.

Don't send it back.

It'll cost a LOT and will take forever to sort.

Even then there's no guarantee that it'll be fully cleaned, serviced, overhauled etc. Some under paid dude in a warehouse will probably be 'working' on it.

Just send it to a forum modder to fully clean/service. Costs around £60

DHL will always tax the item with China's import taxes. I believe they are 10%.

Even a tracked service in China is supremely unreliable, as people open the packages at the sorting center if they see something nice on the scan.

There are many watchmakers who can sort your watch out.

is there no royal or normal mail service.. lowest slowest cheapest is sometimes best under the radar, as I am in CONUS I cannot recommend a UK source, but the US mail overseas with tracking absolutely the lowest, as is the china post, or what ever in Chinese its called.. slow but cheap...
GOOD LUCK! hope its in warranty, otherwise why send it back ?

You can find a cheaper method from the UK to ship it back. Remember, always with tracking number

Sending back to China is a crap shoot, but in any case the OP's cost is awfully high.

I sent ONE piece back that arrived DOA here in the USA. Cost me $50 by International Priority Mail. Made it back to China in 7 days. Took another 8 weeks to get it fixed and returned, but all went well...

I doubt I'd send back again. Would probably try to find a local repair guy to fix it, even if it cost a bit more.

^^ exactly. For $50ish you could get it repaired locally and even fully cleaned, serviced etc for not much more.

Just had a watch sent back to a TD using normal signed for Uk Royal Mail, as advised by them. It left on March 23rd and the replacement was back in the UK on May 1st. Cost to me was the £12.25 RM charge.
