Ok my post was slightly censored, some one forgot to PPPPPPPPPPPPPPut the letter in the PPPPPPPPPPPPPProper PPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPlace.

Panatime looks decent but still not the best deal even with their 10% off.

I just got word from my Nazi watchmaker Guru today he can get me any color dial I want from his Seiko parts contact.and he'll swap it out. WOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOO.
Maybe I'll but a few blue and red dials and replace the black or Orange ones and make a killing on Fleabay.

I've had my eye out for a Seiko for some time now, even before joining this site.
Turns out I have a friend who is an ex SEAL (he says there's no such thing as an ex...) and he says all the old BUDs trainers wear nothing but Seiko and that they swear by them. Think I'll take a look at that site.

I've always said that. People who need to keep accurate dependable time don't buy Rolex or Panerai or automatic for that matter.

if you have to be on time you buy a timex, you buy a rolex when time doesn't matter anymore. 8)

Not the coolest thing I've read

Why would i change the serial#'s??? It's for personal use. Like modding a watch or building a Franken is the business of the owner only. If it's not cool to you then I'm sorry. For that fact DONT use a gen dial on a rep Omega, DONT use an ETA in an all gen Datejust, DONT mod anything, we would not allow ourselves to be satisfied would we? C'mon. If your concerned with buying a Seiko Monster someday with a Blue dial that came with an Orange, don't sweat it. I'm keeping mine.I just got my Blue and Red dial and waiting to buy the "host".

It's the modders outside this forum you should be afraid of.

If given the opportunity most here would jump on it.

Blue ones are hard to come by, the blue dial; cost me $45.00 The red was $30.00. Ill problably use the blue dial and Fleabay the Red and maybe the Orange.

I gotcha. You said you were going to do the swap and resell on the bay as Blue or Red monsters.

to me that didnt sound like personal use.

what it sounds like to you is irrelavant. Just modding my own and for certain keeping it unless I sell it then will be represented as such and I'm sure a few takers would make offers. When have I misrepresented anything here, just having fun and enjoying the many facets of the hobby. Plenty of scammers lurk here and out there and in an effort to promote good will and brotherhood with my RWI members I am offended by the inference that down the line I might take advantage of my good fortune to have access to such parts and resources. I guess I should be Leary of any and all that use a gen part in a swap, that's nearly all of us.

Watchbuff, read this statement you made. Putting a red dial in the blace dial case and selling it as a RED MONSTER would be suspect. The blue and reds are more expensive due to the limited quanities which I am sure you are aware of, and have their own serial #'s and paperwork. It has nothing to do with reps or frankens, as these are gens. We sell frankens, stating they are frankens. Selling a gen black monster case with a different dial was my concern. only 300 made of one and 1300 of the other.

I dont think you would do this to your RWI brothers as you are a reputable member. It was just the way you said it that peeked my interest on the subject. Mainly because I have a black and orange monster now and a blue and red are in my future, I wouldnt be to happy to get a watch I believed to be a true red or blue monster and it was the same as the black one I had.

Nothing personal against you as I enjoy reading your posts.

I would be leary as well. Shake on it. I do not plan to sell it and if I did I would say it was "modified" No cause for alarm.

If you want blue or red and a guarantee it's not doctored, I would just go to an AD. Im not sure if the serial #'s would correlate with the dial faces. CAn anyone chime in on that? I just get a little stressed when somethings like that are said. It echoes of RWG.

Or look at your cell phone. :p

People like us don't buy mechanical watches because they are the best/most accurate way to keep the time. We buy them because mechanical watches "speak" to us. Do you think Omega sells more mechanical or quarts SMPs? Why is that, when the quartz movement is obviously a much better time keeper?

Yes, a $20 Timex from Wal Mart will keep more accurate time than a $5K Submariner, but quartz powered watches aren't timepieces to me, they're appliances for telling the time.

I could not agree more Hooligan. When I am at home the only reason I would wear one of the very few quartz watches I own is when I am running out of the house in a hurry. If I go back to the house in the course of my day I will always swap out my watch for something manual or automatic.

watchbuff,

If he gets the dials, will he also get the crystals with the elongated cyclops to match.

I also notice that the bezels turn a lot smoother on my ornage and heard they do also on the bluc and red. smoother than the black.

Ok I finally got araoj d to takin g a pic of my new Monster. Got it from Fleabay. Sniped an auction of $98.00 +28 shipping. Best price anywhere and this sucker glows brighter and longer than anything I have ever owned. Awesome and keeps great time. Just ordered a Nato band for $10.00 to go with it.

My PAM 111H glows as bright but I think the thickness of the markers makes it stand out more. I came in from the sun into the Simulator room and it was so bright it was distracting to the co-pilot.
