The consensus is the bezel is very tight on all but the VSF, causing it to be difficult to rotate the bezel. It will work, but it will be tougher to move.

I have 3 ZF SMPs. The bezels rotate just fine with a satisfying click :)

Sorry to hijack the thread! I'm hoping someone can share some experience and knowledge on the JHF Omega Seamaster pre 2018.

I know I know, why not go for the latest version etc but I do like the classic understated look of the older no wave dial.

Can anyone tell me if the JHF Omega Seamaster in blue or black is close enough to the gen and isn't an obvious rep please?

I've already checked with some of TD's and they confirmed this model is in stock!

Cheers

The watch in question are these 2

https://theonewatches.io/index.php?...duct_id=6629&sort=p.price&order=ASC&limit=100

I've also seen OMF do this model however it's listed as a 42mm?

I can see there are other factories such as MKF doing this model so would love opinion on the best factory to rep this model. Thanks

Here's a small discussion I found about the quality of the JHF pre-2018 Seamaster:

My concern would be reps have gotten a lot better since around 2018... Why not get a modern rep of a modern watch? Still not sure why you don't want a modern Seamaster 300. Seems like your concern is size. How big is your wrist?

The size is not an issue but I feel it looks huge on my wrist, 17cm, 6.75".

But you do make a good point on the quality of the reps since 2018 improving dramatically! Guessing the older models are just surplus stock and are not exactly reped to today's standard.

Exactly.

A good example of this is Trusty's famous "NEWBIE" Submariner.

This isn't a good copy, the watch is of an older style Submariner, the rehaut looks like a wok, rotor noise is loud, and it's been on the site forever. Trusty must have TONS of these things they bought a decade ago.

Reps are SO MUCH better now than they were then. I highly recommend you get something more modern, as material, finish, and moreover, movement reliability, will be much better than something sitting in a warehouse for 5 years.

So glad I caught your attention! I will check through the listing's and see what else catches my eye. May pop into the Omega boutique near my workplace and try on the 42mm seamaster! Thanks again mate, really appreciate your input on this.

I've seen threads of people choosing the ZF version as the VSF and OM I think have the common thread issues that hasn't been fixed as far as I'm aware

It has been a mix of VSF and ZF picks in this thread. Despite the issues mentioned, I chose to order the ZF. That being said, many have said that ZF quality has gone down lately, so looking forward to seeing what shows up. Expecting a rotor louder than a 747.

I'm OK with a noisy rotor...I'll just stay still in a quiet room full of people I don't know 😜.

Looking forward to your update on the purchase

Still waiting on the QC pics. Will post some here when I get em, and my pictures when the watch is received!

Got my QC pictures! I have already approved these pictures so I am only posting for the information of others. Here's one of the ZF.

I'm not concerned about the slightly tilted indice at 6, does not bother me as the 12 looks fine.

However, before the vendor found the ZF, I was offered a VSF, which had a similar flaw with a tilted indice at 6.

Still picked the ZF even though the rotor will be loud, but at least the crown guards will be good and the tube is higher quality than the VSF. Will report when I get the ZF, including a recording of the rotor noise.

It's probably the lighting but I actually like the color of the ZF more than the VSF here.

And yes. The rotor is loud. And not in a good way. Sounds very cheap. But get it silenced and it transforms the watch. Absolutely worth trying it after you get yours.

Sounds like I need to order some Moebius 9010!

QC looks spot on and the 6 marker won't be too noticeable once on the wrist!

Keep us posted on the rotor noise. A video of how bad it actually is would be great :)

ZS followed by VF, pretty obvious, for alignment, dial color, oil fonts, night pearl and glass view.
VF is my personal choice.
Thank you for above extremely detailed and totally professional comparison.
This piece is a lot harder to rep than a RLX. Overall, astounding job.
