lol.. there's enough problems with ebay.. im never surprised when they drag up something new to screw up.

they finally got around to 'fixing' the shipping problem.. only they didn't fix shit. sellers can still list a 3 dollar item with 90 dollars shipping to both mislead buyers, to reduce ebay fees, to screw with paypal refunds (if you get scammed, and file complaint, paypal doesnt refund shipping costs), and they still end up higher on the sorting order if sorted by price.

the new 'sort by price+shipping' is a piece of crap by the way.. i end up using a firefox plugin that handles it much better.. thats just me though.

weird about the feedback thing with buyers.. i've gotten 7 over the past 8 years and roughly 6,000 transactions.. and i never even bother leaving feedback anymore. its dangerous to leave a buyer bad feedback, they *will*retaliate. its also bad to leave them good feedback, because then they have no fear of leaving you any just for giggles, even if you do issue a refund and play by all the right rules. no mark on their conscience..

and PP+ebay fees are getting to be a fairly high % of final value.. add up what all the fees are... if you are selling anything under like 10 bucks.. fees take most of it.

Ebay does blow, in about every way possible.

They just pulled one of my auctions stating that the item I was selling was a part of an assault weapon as defined by federal or Commiefornia law. The item I was selling was a paratrooper stock for an M1 carbine. A weapon that has been ruled exempt and NOT an assault weapon under BOTH Federal and Commiefornia law.

Care to guess what their response to my pointing this out to them was? Yup you guessed it "We are not going to respond to your inquiry."

well - ebay says it clear...no gunparts to be sold.
i mean ..its their business....their rules. easy as that...dont like it....go somewhere else.
i have a lot of problems with ebay as well.....and paypal.....so many fucked up stories !
but...their rules. what can you do. everybody hates it....everybody tries to make a buck.
by the way...big gunshow in Reno in a few weeks ! the right place to sell.

ebay canceled my auction - for a Bayonett. threatned me to close my account....a knife only ! - but yeah....a gunpart.

Actually they do sell gun parts. Just not anything that makes a weapon go BANG. They prohibit Assault weapon parts and clearly spell out what is and is not acceptable, then refuse to follow their own rules...That is what my complaint is about...

I've been selling stuff on Feebay for 9 years now. I've hated them ever since the first time someone sold me some broken crap for good money but I kept going back because they've been the only game in town. Because of these new changes, I'm quitting cold turkey.

The fees I could live with. Even when the combined fees between ebay and paypal came up to 10% of the sale.

This new negative feedback BS is f'n stupid. I'm really really hoping that google gets into the online auction business in the worst way.

Yep, ebay gives me the shits somtimes. Here's a few of the latest rules for ebay AU. some of which I beleve are prob a result of the free trade agrement with y'all in the land of the "free":

No sales of (allmost) anything from Cuba. Um, last time I looked Australia did not have an embargo on Cuban goods. WTF?

No Sales of used clothing. OK so you can't buy the panties J Low was almost wearing last night, tough, but it also meens that hand sewen 100yo dress that your missus wanted is also out.

No digital downloads. To hard to police? Ban it. Good fix guys. "Cure by death"

At least we still have a "fair postage and handling" policy. But for how long?

Regards,
Col.

I have gotten all my watches on Ebay. Now whether they are fakes or gens I really don`t care. They are all working perfectly, knock on wood ,years later.I have a 100% rating on my feedback but that is because I have always made prompt payment and dealt with the seller in a respectful way and excellent communication.I agree with fakemaster about this bullshit ruling by ebay concerning the seller not being able to leave negative feedback.I agree that if I fuck the seller with a purchase he should have every recource possible to nail me to the cross and leave a negative feedback. Its the old addage,"An eye for an eye".If you screw the seller then he or she should be able to leave negative feed back just like the buyer can!

I think there's a simple solution to the problem of retaliatory feedback on eBay:

After a transaction is complete, give the buyer and seller 21 days (or whatever) to leave feedback for each other. Once feedback is left, it is not immediately disclosed. Once the 21 days have passed, both feedbacks are made visible on eBay at the same time.

This way, you no longer can give feedback to each other based on the feedback that you have received, but only based on the transaction.
