I just got my DSN 195 in and I'm baffled as to why the sausage dial can't hold a charge like a sandwhich. In the car on a bright day I have make adist around my 127 and tell that its glowing. I do it to the 195 and can barely tell. Why is this? It reminds me of rep lume to be honest...

You may send the 195 to me as well. I will evaluate it for a lengthy period and let you know.

Serious answer, it's far easier to lume a sandwich dial....perhaps it just has more on it?

Beats me I thought a sausage dial would have held it better not other way around.
The joys of being a noob

Is it because there is more surface area allowing the sandwich to be able to absorb more light?

I'm just amazed at how big of a difference there is. anyone own a DSN sausage and sandwich and can comment?

A big part of the intensity/effectiveness of lume is how thick it can be applied. On the sandwich dials, the lume can be applied much thicker to the bottom "slice" of the sandwich.

The difference is much less noticeable on the gens, because gen sausage dials are engraved and then lume filled. Our dials just have the lume painted on top...

Might also be a crappier grade of lume.
Im hungry, Im gonna go get a sausage sandwich (with peppers) from lil' Italy

I have the sausage 111H from DSN and the lume is superb to say the least. The 005 PAW I had for some time had lume in name only. It was dull and the emisson from a bright charge source still was dull.

Go to VAC or send it to Kent parks and ask for the new GX pigment that Lum tec is using and you'll be using the watch as a 3rd headlight.

I just bought a vial of the GX lume from Lum-Tec and I am not all that impressed with it. I have two other lumes and it really is not MUCH better than the others. I still think the best lume that I had was the original green lume that Coldi shared with me. That stuff was pretty damn impressive.

I have not tried the GX lume myself but I heard its good stuff. i guess it depenfds on the emisson color you get. Noctilumina is decent stuff.

You would think the hands would glow longer. They don't though. They die just as fast as the sausage. Just nxffles be. Its like rep lume. Not the super lume I paid for.

Any ideas?

Here are a few pics. In the light you can see the 127 is glowing like a torch. Its bright for the first few seconds and then just dies just like rep lume...What do you guys think? I just think its very DULL for something thats supposed to be suoerlumed...

Opinions?

Did I have to high of expectations? Or is this lume normal? I'll be honest my DSSD holds a better charge than this...

The pic is comparing the lume to my DSN 127. The DSN 195 (on the right in the first pic, on the left in the last two pics) is suppose to be lumed as well but it just looks like rep lume to me and want some others opinions. BTW no trickery on PS or anything it was taken via my BB storm...

What do you all think? Is this the "superlume" we are getting these days?

I had bought 127, 005 & 36 dial from DSN with high expectation on lume, 127 is good but duration is not long, 005 & 36 are total disapointment as I paid very high price for these dials. At the end , I did not install in the watch as it seems to be the same as rep dial originally come in. Money wasted.
