Hi gang,

Some of you know me, and those who do, know that I'm a pretty chilled guy and dont make a big fuss about almost anything.
The kind of guy that can eat Kebab even when i ordered Chinese. It's all good cos in the end of the day, as long I'm treated well, I'm happy.

One of my favorite watches is the VC 4500V, It's just a masterpiece! Everytime i look at my wrist (even with a rep) i go WoW! The same feeling every grown straight man (and maybe some non binary and queer) has when he receives a TTs picture.

But I'm also very unfortunate..
-Bought a 4500V from JTime, my all time fav TD, but after almost a year, i decided to calibrate it as it was a bit off.
-Newbie me damaged the hairspring! 🤦‍♂️
-Ok ok.. breath in, breath out.. Ordered another movement from JTime, who were so very kind to provide it after 2 months waiting (which is alright as its not a "normal" request to the factory).
-This time i wont screw up! Did my best to reinstall the hands, but they wouldnt move...
-Found Reece! I was really happy and everything seemed alright. he had a good and fast response and we discussed what to do:
- Give it a service
- Fix the hands not moving
- Try to do his best to repolish the hands (that were a bit manggled by your truly)
- Also agreed after being suggested to have it polished.. fine.

Now... Why rolex you ask?
Cos I have waited 4 freaking months for the darn thing. But it wasnt an easy 4 months, It was sending texts weekly without any response. It was having to come to RWI and publicly ask if he changed his phone number.

Ok, thats fine.. breathe in.. breath out... sing out some mantras and be one with all like a NY hotdog.
As long the service was fine.. i told myself not to be dramatic about the delay.

The watch arrives... and... Well... i took pictures has pictures are worth more than a thousand words:

First of all, If you do this for a living, specially when we talk about watches, you reeeeeeeeeally have to pay attention to the details.
How can you reinstall the bezel not aligned!?!
And the overall dirt on the dial??

Yes, the hands were mangled..
Did you even try to repolish them? Date Window? Nothing?

I am not a watchmaker. But take a look at the results after taking it apart and just doing a bit of a cleaning:

Oh and look at that! Now the freaking bezel is aligned(ish)!

Ok, lets talk about service:

Look great mate! Well done!

Hey, at least the bracelet looks amazing!

I understand that Reece may be with overwork. I honestly think he is not a scammer or a "bad person".
I do think that customer service is not only about the service but communication as well, and having the balls to say "listen, i wont be able to do this now"
I would prefer that and know what to except. than to have this type of treatment with this failure as a result.

No, i dont want your 6 months warranty, no i wont leave a google review (it would look really bad mate, trust me).
And no, this is nothing personal. Just an unhappy Karen that has to call JTime again for the 3rd watch.

Thank you all for reading this.

I hope you were refunded.
The movement service is a failure and was a waste of money.
I don't know what sort of condition the hands were in before they were 'polished', but the plating has been removed from them on the raised areas and the brass is now visible.
As for the watch polishing, there's a haze on the bezel meaning it wasn't done correctly. I can't see the bracelet very clearly in the video, which is probably a good thing.
A shame you don't have any pics of the watch before you sent it off, that would be proof that it was in worse condition after the corrective work.

Nah.. i wasnt refunded, neither i expect to be. My main point on this post is more about the attitude and the lack of prefessionalism rather than a monetary issue. This may help some other forum users to decide their watchmaker options. But i do see your point and appreciate you saying it.

I dont have your keen eye or the expertise to detect those errors you mentioned, but i believe your word for it.
Yeah, good point. lesson learned and will take pics everytime i send a watch for repair.

Anyway, Ordered another VC from Jtime, and will use this dial in another project.

Thank you sharing, to be honest the hands look quite damaged… and as well the cube around the date, was the latter like that when you bought the watch?

To be fair, like i stated in my post, i had already mangled the hands up a bit "Yes, the hands were mangled.." and Reece did show concern about them thouching eachother in the future, it would need fixing.
And I would definitely do it if the overall service/watch condition reflected the repair cost, not to mention the 4 months waiting time.

I'm just a hobbiest, i think that's what @mclarendude points out about them being out of alignment?
Being too close to eachother?

The main problem is that even if i can source new hands, the movement definitely needs a service. So.. i think I'm just going to sell the parts to someone that may use them.

When you say you "mangled" the hands - do you mean bent? It looks as if they are scratched quite deeply - perhaps during removal and re-setting?

I'm trying to ascertain how the damage to the hands was done - as it'll give a good indicator as to whether they can be remedied.

Precisely. Scratched.

I wouldnt bother, Although they look better now (only with a lupe you can see the deep scratches) i would prefer to get a new set.
But i do understand it would be very hard to find, so I think I'm going to try and sell the carcass of the dead animal and let it go like Elsa before more money gets frozen.

Sucks to go
Through that sorry to hear . Taking pics before sending out the watch for repair is a good rule of thumb. Sometimes it’s better to just sell
It as is or for parts and buy another from jtime

Hi sorry for this, I’m shocked to hear you have a issue and I’m honestly upset to see this.

For the past several weeks, I have been on and off work for health reasons. So I haven’t logged into RWI for a long time.

If I had received a message I. WhatsApp from you I would have definitely seen it.

However I do want to resolve this as best as possible.

As you mentioned, the hands and dial was damaged prior to me servicing. And that I showed you said you tried yourself.

Regarding the service, the outcome was -/+ 10 seconds with 250+ amplitude so I have no idea how you have got so poor reading, I’ve attached on this thread.

Last message from you was a positive message to say thank you

I’ve also attached some pictures of it leaving me.

This now does come down to a bit of a he-said-she-said situation. From what I'm seeing, the OP has no proof of what the watch looked like before it left for Reece, and it seems like Reece has no proof of what the watch looked like before he opened it up?
