@dhk ,At this time I have erased old PM's. As my box was getting to capacity. I do remember you saying you checked the watches, and you just said you had a watchsmith check them. What I remember you saying is "I have a watchsmith check them before sale". To me that is misleading. why just one if you advertise all ETA. To me this deal is over. I was just warning people all is not what they are told. I have the watch out getting the pearl relumed at this time to get a bubble out. That is something that I accepted.

I respect your offer of returning the money, but at this time I am out alot more than the cost of the watch. I have spoken with Vac who said the mvmnt will take ETA parts if I have a problem..

Another lesson learned.

Nate

"I'm a Ph.D. student in mathematics studying at a prestigious east coast univ, who's father owns a biotech company"

Now I feel much better..... Please enlighten us common folk as to the relevance of where you are attending college has to do with the issue of you selling a misrepresented product?

Mentioning what your father does or who he works for again has no relevance with the issue. Good luck with that education and riding on daddy's coat tails....

I was trying to stress that I'm not some bum off the street trying to peddle wares for a quick buck...that is all...Every post before that was a scamming dealers trying to make a quick buck and the image portrayed. I was trying to give a glimpse of my life ...
And I never misrepresented a product because I truly believed what I was advertising...You'd realize that if you read any of it. And is that how you took it? "Common folk" You really think my post is about that? You're an idiot. Everyone in my life knows what I'm about and my life philosophies....Don't take 1 line out of my tirade and make it significant. And how does your comment even help this situation or relevant to me or Nate...

Not to be a pain dhk223, but I also felt that spelling out your credentials the way you did *seemed* more bragging than anything else...but hey, you do have a point regarding the fact that you weren't just trying to make a quick buck. Just the way you said it make the whole thing look a bit awkward. Nothing major though

@manu: you're not being a pain but just know that on the first page of this thread its about dealers trying to turn a quick buck I was compenating for that.
When the member horologie got scammed a few months ago from a member and when it was learned that this member lived in jersey city I was the first to volunteer to walk over a letter to his apartment complex and drop it off in order to get his money back.
I feel like people are quick to judge on this forum. You know Nate wanted a novelty pumpkin PO for his young son, and once the snow cleared up in NYC I went out to Canal St. to see if I could find a cheap small version of this watch for him. Not to make money but to find a gift for his son.

@t185: sorry buddy i'm not riding on anyone's coattails...I decided a long time ago to make it on my own which explains my mounting student loans and no financial assistance from my parents. Don't try to figure me out from 1 line.

"You're an idiot."

The "idiot" is always the first party that reverts to a personal attack when that party feels they are loosing or lost the argument.

I think it is quiet clear who the idiot is.... :D

it is my understanding that DHK is a member selling watches here and there... not a fulltime dealer.

it is too bad that his supplier bait and switched on him and that his watchsmith did a oneover on it and missed that it was not a gen ETA.

probably only checked to see if it was in working order only.

This post was not to personally attack David but to let people know to check watches upon arrival. Whether you can do it or have it inspected by a watchsmith. David did offer my money back and to find a undersized PO for my son. He is a good guy, just some things happened to go against him.

I harbor no ill will and will move on. IT just really makes me wonder how many NON ETAS are being sold as ETA.

You're a good guy as well Nate...
And by the way if I seem cranky I've been up since 6:30 AM...My wife (we've been married since 3/1), is hosting a bridal shower for her cousin and I've been assigned making the gift baskets....So under her watchful eye...in my boxer briefs...I'm taking wicker baskets, lining them with lace, and putting a bunch of ceramic nick-nacks in them and pretending that I actually care.....i can't wait to go to bed....

@DHK: ugh, g/f got a job at starbucks... so she wakes up at like 4 am and makes a ruckus. So i'm up also hahahahaa...

@nate: it's truly starting to scare me the number of non-etas surfacing when advertised as "eta's" - in the very least, the asian copy ETA's take eta parts that's good; probably teh whole reason for buying ETA in the first place is for future repairs... but i cant help but feel a bit scammed in this way :( I've been noticing mostly though that it's a PO thing. read one thread about a B&R... but man  one pays for what's advertised and not get it? stupid suppliers.

My comments were based on the belief that a dealer was involved.....not a member.....that changes everything........!

@TTK, at the time of purchase Dhk was in the process of getting dealer status. I bought this from him under the impression of him being a dealer not a member sale. He even had a dealer page for a day or so.

LMFAO: Nice! I guarantee you wrote that while your missus was out of the house!
I'd like to hear her version.

I think I'm going to start a new thread: DEFINITION OF FOREPLAY...and use urs as the first entry.
