Sad news, GF/GOF closed and doesn't accept anymore orders, no more 43mm Bathyscapes! (2024 May)

Just received mine, it’s stunning .

Couple of negative points that other members might want to be aware of.
The bezel is fixed, doesn’t rotate.
The rotor looks rough, like some dragged it on some concrete for a bit. Also on the rotor it says Golo instead of Gold.
The bezel pip is a bit off centre, get your Reddit alignment tools ready .

None of these things bother me or take away from the enjoyment of the watch.

Oh also the crystal is terrible, I don’t think it has any AR on it. Trying to take a picture of this beautiful dial is almost impossible.

My bezel works, albeit it's very hollow and has a weird click.

Agree about the AR, and also agree about the garbage rotor (but who cares about that lmao)

100% this. even not to fussed about the bezel. Usually if I get a dive watch the only time I rotate the bezel is when I received it to make sure it works, so that I can never use it .

@Reaps first off thanks again for posting about this release . Also do you know if GOF are fully functioning or are they just making watches out of old parts like this one.

I asked about other GOF models such as their JLC and their Titanium Bathyscape as well as their Superocean, I got "no stock" as a response. So I wouldn't hold my hopes up but it never hurts to ask.

me too... I never touch the rotating bezel except just to make sure it's aligned to 12 o'clock
neither on GMT bezel, I will just add a second local timezone on my mobile phone if my destination is in different timezone

Quick update, the bezel does rotate, it was just very stiff. So true to form I rotated fully and now it will never be used again .

Watch is so beautiful, I think you could hypnotise someone with this, I find myself just staring at the dial at times throughout the day

Good news for Bathyscaphe fans not only is the complete calendar reference available but the original ceramic 43mm base models are available again now.

From what is most likely the latest incarnation of GF after GOF we now have GFF. Probable that these have been cobbled together from existing parts stock left over from the GF days like what we saw from GOF. Whatever it is these are now available and probably in short supply so contact your TD.

A few years ago comparison between Gens and Reps were quite common...this is the original GF Bathyscaphe release, nearly perfect !

The best way to tell old vs new GF stock is simple... seconds hand on ceramic model.

I think the movement (other than rotor) and cases are the same as GF... from what I can see.... even the dial and markers and stuff looks like GF.

I noticed that the crown is plastic on my cobbled together model. Not too noticeable when viewed from the front but you definitely feel it when time setting.

From images of the original GF models the crown looks either ceramic or some metal.

sorry to resurrect this thread but its all I can find on GF factory. Any factory lore experts know what the state of GF is? I know they were raided awhile back and disappeared, (and before I was into reps of course, so now ill never get that GF Glashutte Sixties...) but I saw TD's listing these bathyscaphe's and thought they came back? Is it not the same GF as before?

GF is dead and buried but as you can see you can find some leftover parts and/or factories still making some slightly inferior versions of the ceramic bathyscape.

The Titanium ones? Dead and gone.
