Well, for what it's worth I've been manhandling my stem and have had the movement in and out about 20 times now...

So in the last few days I've had trouble with my SA3135 hands falling off, mostly the minute hand. I was ready to flip out and sell it, send it back, something until I had an epiphany: Gen hands don't fit because they're too small. I tried them and THEY WORKED! It took a little more effort to get them seated then the original hands but this is supposed to be a tool watch, I want the hands to stay in place when I fall off of something I shouldn't have been climbing in the first place.

The result:

SO that means that GEN hands FIT the SA3135...

Why do the original hands not fit????

I'm guessing it's a manufacturing tolerance issue: The hands are thin material and the wheels on which they mount (is that the "cannon pinion?") a tad large. By the time I'd monkeyed with my hands and movement enough the hands had stretched to the point of being too large and any burrs had been worn off the movement, allowing the gen hands to fit with less effort then when I first tried. Discrepancies in manufacturing could lead to the differences in pinion size and our perceived impression of there being more then one version of the movement floating around...
