Just got word from toro that the daydate I want from noobfactory is only availanle in a 3136 SA clone. What kind of movement is that? I have read these clones are not very good and are quite fragile. Is this true?

What am I really getting over a 2836-2 Swiss or Asian? This costs 394USD for SA3136 Clone Rolex shipped to con US.

The "clone" 3135's are primarily of interest to those wishing to use a gen dial and hands.
No broaching of the hands is required (so they say) and the gen feet positions will fit the mvt. without clipping.

Thank you for taking the time in replying, as I've read much information that you have previously supplied to this forum. Great information indeed!! Has taught me a lot!

And it makes total sense in not overspending when it's not needed to have a decent replica.

So here's my delema; I wanted to replace a gen, vintage 2003 GMT II Coke version that I had for years. I was looking for a rep that mirrored my old Rolex.

So after a exhausting search I came up with these two watches. They both look to be made from the same manufacturer, but the price is different.

Your thoughts would be appeciated
Cheers,

They are talking about a different movement Mark. The SA3135 is a clone of the Rolex 3135 movement. The A3135 (Asian 3135) is just a prettied up clone movement.

I would avoid it, certainly not worth the extra money.

Check out the Rolex WIKI page.

The price is different because the movements are different. The A3186 modified movement will not mimic the functions of a genuine Rolex 3185 because it is simply a cosmetic modification to a standard clone 2836 movement. Nothing technical in its operation has been altered. From that standpoint, and with a closed caseback, there is nothing to gain from spending that extra money.
