Just got my hands on one and I must say I'm pretty impressed. Thought I'll be bothered by wearing something with fake gears on the dial but it seems pretty complex with the different textures created by the brushed steel and pseudo black steel cage holding it together.



Only complains beside the non-blue Tint glass is that it seems that the glass is glued onto the case and you can see the glue under close scrutinity

Yes you are able to see the FC pattern under direct light . But due to its construction with decoration and hence thicker case, it is slightly harder to see than Gen under normal circumstances

Overall pretty happy with my purchase and it makes me want a Gen RM even more !

I see what you mean about the glued on crystal - I can see what looks to be glue or grease around parts of the crystal. That's a shame.

Also has your FC started to chip off on some parts of the top case?? it could just be lighting but there looks like a chip just above the bottom right-hand screw in the photo

The excess glue around the crystal looks bad. Could you see it in your QC pics?
RM35 logo plate is covering the '2' in 24 jewels. Bezel screws also look unevenly sunken.
These issues are on mine as well, had to change a couple.
RMF's build quality really needs to improve, especially at the prices these are going for.

I don't want to be too critical because RM (especially the 35-01 and the 55) is a tough watch to take on, and these watches are definitely an improvement from the previous generations. I'm pretty happy with what the factories are doing, I hope they continue to make some progress.

But your right, I think i'll hold off for now given the prices and wait for them to improve a little more. It's the small things like the excess glue that could be avoided that put me off

Now you have it in hand, what do you think of the possibility of thinning the case??? And then we can have a custom canvas strap with Velcro and loop fastening.

Something I've no idea about bud, its a great rep but to spend any kinda cash modding would be a waste! Dial is little rough for my liking

I don't even mind if the wheels/gears don't turn as per gen. What's concerning to me is that they don't even look real. They look like they're painted on. These RMs are just not ready for prime time. Please correct me, if I'm wrong.
