Rubber strap and bracelet

Hey guys,

I've been around RWI for awhile now but strictly buying and selling and wearing Rolex.

Because of James Bond/Daniel Craig, I've been infatuated with the UPO. I finally took the plunge and bought this today because I thought it was a good deal.

I want a rubber strap and stainless bracelet for it so I have some flexibility. I know how to find the watches I'm looking for but when it comes to straps/accessories... I don't.

Does anyone have an Omega branded black rubber strap and/or the stainless bracelet for a 42mm UPO?

42mm is not a UPO.

As far as the ebay strap goes, I'm SURE it's not gen. Or at least I wouldn't think so for $35...

Holy smokes! $200 for the gen strap and another $200 for the buckle...? Sheesh. No wonder we buy reps.

FYI on rubber straps for the 42 mm PO.
The Gen strap is 20/20. The rep is 20/18.

I bought the rubber strap from that dude on ebay, so we'll see how that goes... It was cheaper than the one I saw on ReplicaMake's site so thought I'd give it a shot...

Mark, now looking at that ebay pic, that won't fit a planet ocean. At least not the gen.

9800085 will fit the 2531.80, 2254.0 and the other SMP's.

The gen strap for the PO 42MM is a 98000144

Maybe it will fit your rep.. IDK. What concerns me about the ebay pic is that it does no show the lug pic. Which is a big problem.

Sorry I didn't understand or comprehend what you were saying until now. If you get a rep strap from that guy, immediately ask for a refund and if he won't listen, dispute it. The old rep straps had a softer rubbery lug and it flopped over. In addition when the 42MM was first repped, they used a mold and lug position for the 085 and copied the case and oval holes of the 144 and that is why it flopped around, I believe.

As far as a bracelet goes, I know that Stan can get one with a new watch. Or you could look at getting a used gen on TZ or WUS. They are worth it IMO.

If it turns out to be a Gen strap, you found a great deal! Otto Frei sells it for $230 including the buckle. I would sit on it and wait for the right SMP to come along ....

It is designed to fit an SMP but I think it can fit a rep PO.

As far as telling if it's a rep, bring it into an AD and check there. My Gen strap is firmer than my rep ones.

And I just found this:

For clarification (since there seems to be a lot of confusion out there because Omega also makes a 20mm lug width strap for the Planet Ocean with different spring bar hole to case depth), this is Omega part number OME-98000085 and has "Seamaster" inscribed on the inner part of the strap. My understanding is that the one for the Planet Ocean actually has "Planet Ocean" inscribed on the inside of the strap.

That's what I was trying to say Q5. In gen form, the 85 and 144 have different hole placements. So, in gen form, on gen cases, they don't interchange, not even with a springbar bend mod. That's why they sell 2 different straps. lol I couldn't get my 4Gen rep 42MM to take the 85. Even if I monkeyed with it, it would have looked re-dica-lus. So I went to TimeZone and found a used 144.

Mark it might fit. If it's gen, you can resell it.

Judging by the thickness of the "Seamaster" font. It's a rep.
