Hello,

First post here and so far I am really frustrated. Placed an order on March 6 with my American Express card. Transaction took me to a screen where it said it would send me a code to verify it was a valid charge. Received the code and the transaction said processed. Steve said the transaction failed and asked if I would try it again. I did try again but Amex did not approve the additional attempt as it came back with a fraud alert. The original charge has gone from pending to posted for 5 days now. Steve says he doesn't have the payment but American Express says he does. The only option I have now is to file a dispute which Amex says it could take 4-6 weeks.

Yeah, lots of reports of this going on with him lately, both here and on reddit. That, plus very delayed QC regardless of which factory you're ordering from.

yeah my payment was also rejected and I'm waiting for the money to come back, but in my case he already sent the package, of course I'll pay him

overall I'm under impression that after he posted the discounts on r/Reptime and r/ChinaTime he has a lot of orders on his plate and is overwhelmed, plus I think he has some new employees which are using the same email and whatsapp, because of that and a bit of a language barrier sometimes lots of stuff gets confusing

Not the first time Im reading about CC problems, but with Steve it seems to be quite frequent lately, I wonder what the reason might be. Different processor maybe?

I noticed that this is your first time posting on RWI. You are welcome to introduce yourself in the new members area in the "New members say hi" sub section.

Regarding your problem: That's exactly why generally credit cards are not the best option to pay a TD. Also, you should never use your "real" credit card, but disposable one-time use virtual cards, for two reasons:

Number 1) there have been instances in the past, with shady card processors abusing cards, without the TDs knowledge, and all kinds of fraudulent charges showing up.

Number 2) They are perfect for exactly the problem you describe. Since multiple charges are not possible, they can't be charged twice and since they are only available as debit cards, you will definitely, instantly see whether the money was taken out of the account or not. With real credit cards, it is possible for charges to be processed "in the background".

Thanks so much for the welcome and advice. I will look into using a one time card for my future purchases. I have heard back from Steve and he says he has processed the order of my first attempt. So now its a waiting game on the QC pics and shipment.

My first order I had issues with processing my credit card ~2 weeks ago. I ordered again from @steve_theonewatches today and it processed through Stripe and everything went smoothly. Your experience is just a payment processing issue that appears to be sorted out on their site now.

I hope so! I tried to pay about 3-4 times but it was frustrating because one of those payments posted and Steve was not seeing it. We went back and forth over it and hopefully that part is sorted out. I am in the waiting for QC pics limbo now. Hopefully they will come soon enough. They had the watch in stock when I ordered but now I am waiting for more to come from the factory.
