Thanks - But if I look at the Gen ROO Diver you link to, each "cube" has a smooth surface - as the 15710 JF - whereas the V7 JF has a swirl pattern ?

Thus I'm a little confused about this pattern since I have read many places that the V7 is the best/closest to gen today ...and are just about to buy one )

So I guess that the real question is; Have AP produced the Diver with both dial patterns?

Think I found the answer to my own question! Based on following two pic's of Gen's it looks like that the AP ROO Diver comes with two different dial versions of the Méga Tapisserie. ..sorry to disturb

The Mega Tapisserie has particular pattern. I am looking for a JF AP Diver, with a display case back and the Mega Tapisserie pattern. I haven't find one so far. Any one can help?

Hi All

I've been searching this and other forums for input on which is more close to gen when looking at Royal Oak Offshore Diver V7 JF vs. Royal Oak Offshore Diver 15710 JF from a Dial perspective, without any luck. ...swirls vs. plain

any shared thoughts/takes on this appreciated

Hey, welcome to the forum.

Both diver versions you are referring to are wrong dial wise.

The swirls one (v7, 15703) has a poor quality execution - see for more details an old post of mine, https://forum.replica-watch.info/vb...set-photo-review?highlight=tosoboso+gen+diver

The second one (15710) is wrong too, as the squares are rounded and a bit too narrow in comparison to the gen.

The best option - unless you want to get into modding and buy a HF ceramic diver for the dial alone (which is the closest to the no-swirls gen) is to go for a white dial 15710 v2. That is closer to the gen dial (squares are still a bit too narrow, but at least are flat).

Good luck and enjoy the hobby

Thanks - looks like I'm in for an ever growing collection of AP Divers's. I've already ordered the QE II and the JF V8 (black dial), but will definetly also order a White dial. Do you have any great advice on the ROO Chrone 42 mm. versions as well. All dials I've been able to find, the DW are much to close to the Tachy?

If I were you I'd read quite a bit before I order any 42mm ROOs - those have a number of known issues and "tells", you'll enjoy them but be sure that you know the weak points. People say that the 44mm ROOs are better on the hand, but remember that they have open casebacks.

Can someone's teach me the difference between the standard diver and the 15710? I thought the v7 JF was the best but now I see the v8 worth closed case back and cannot understand the differences

As far as I know is the movement difference (so is the price), V7 is A2824 or ETA2824, V8 is Miyota 9015. Both are good movements.

Thanks! So the "diver" and the "15710" are the same?

If I am not wrong, the V7 is 15703 (with close back but some TDs called it 15710) and the "new" V8 should be 15710 (with open back but they also offer a close back), IMO the V8 should be a new V1 of 15710.

Btw at the end of the game is the v8 JF with closed case back the best now available?
