It is not a guessing work. Companies in the UK, which Rolex and other Swiss brands are one of those, have to publish their public accounts per the legal requirement. Take a look at this: https://usa.watchpro.com/what-can-w...for-rolex-patek-philippe-and-audemars-piguet/
Correct - here is the data for Rolex for y/e 2022... Although it is just the UK entity.

Anyone can search Companies House for the full accounts.

Yeah, no money in football. The players, teams and managers are all poor. Every game is on Freeview. They are all just begging for sponsors. SMH - you're so full of shit it takes the piss.

Mbappé is the poorest footballer in the world. He is so poor he has to play the Ninja Turtles part-time so that he can earn extra cash. Messi is also very poor he has to become an Au Pair to babysit little Lamine.

Yep, football is just for poor people. The richer the people get, the smaller the balls they play, like golf. :ROFLMAO:

..never said football players were poor

but it's true.. it's the reason Rolex has never ever sponsored a football player. Ever.

things that make you go

Are you by any chance a member of the Flat Earth Society and/or Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster?

The point is the average wealth of a person that plays and/or is interested in football is much lower than the equivalent for F1, tennis, golf, sailing, horses, etc.

So it makes more commercial sense for their sponsorships to be focused on sports which havr a certain societal caché and realtively high barriers to entry, just like buying the damn things.

Another reason is football is a group game, From the standpoint of corporate communications, it is not suitable for the corporate image, which usually emphasizes personal endeavour like a golf or F1 player.

However, saying they won't sponsor football simply because football is a sport of poor men is moronic.

It's a little more crude but it's the same thing.

As the old saying goes... Football is a gentleman's game played by thugs and Rugby is a thug's game played by gentlemen!

It's just not their market - there are too many sponsors within Football which would make for awkward associations. It's nothing to do with wealth - everyone I know who owns a Rolex likes football.

Rolex are also leaving F1 - their place is being taken by TAG Heuer. Rolex remain the timekeeping partner for Wimbledon. Tickets for Wimbledon cost only £80 and max out at £200 for the final - available only by public ballot - so it's not like only the richest 10% in society are attending - it's accessible to everyone.
