Does the arf have the same potential for moding compared to the noob v9 ?

yes it does, my understanding is and im not expert but if you have the ARF with the SH3135 or SH3135v2 it is just as easily moded as the noob V9 but also the V9 with the 2836 movement is harder to mod. it depends on what exactly your wanting to mod but if y our looking for correct crystal height or want gen hands and dial and easier instal of gen date wheel than either watch will work as long as it has the SH3135 in it. you can mod ones with the 2836 movement but it takes considerably more effort. again i am still relatively new to this myself but have done a lot of reading and learning here on this website.

I would like to open this thread back up, as I too am in the same boat. I have had three sub experts on this site all recommend different things one said ARF SH3135V2, another said the 2824 nd the last said 2828.
Assuming you want the most authentic/reliable out of the box sub, with an option to modify later down the road, what is the best choice? What are the drawbacks to each model? I hear the ARF SH3135V2 is an unreliable movement, the 2824 is more reliable, but harder to mod with gen parts.
All help and advice is greatly appreciated!

This is something I’ve been looking in to as I want a hulk but atm would have no one to mod it or know where to get bits.
Wgat ive read myself is that the arf 2824 is probably best ootb option but if you’re going to mod then the noob v9

As per today, i would say ARF a2824 is the best(better) choice. The date on SH3135 version has fat font. Most likely next week ARF will release 116610LN with the new SH3135V2 movement. According to Angus, it is more stable and they also have changed the date wheel.(example the new ARF 116613 LB https://puretime.io/submariner-1166...ition-904l-ss-case-and-bracelet-sh3135v2.html). Some people already said that now the font is too thin, i cannot express my opinion because is really difficult to judge from a pic. It is also a big question if the new SH3135V2 will have the same(or better) reliability as a2824.
I will wait few more days to see how the watch looks and then i will take a decision...a2824 or SH3135V2

If I’m completely honest mate I don’t know.

I would like a gen and have name on list but chances of me getting one are slim and I’m not paying double the rrp

so I want a rep but a good rep that no one will tell as they wouldn’t associate me with a rep but people will ask to look at it no doubt.

Im new to all this so not sure how good the ootb are. theres so many that look good but how good in real life I’m not sure

other 2 watches I’d really like and have name down for is a batman (read the bezelon Reid is pretty bad atm) and a datejust 41mm Wimbledon dial, stainless jubilee. Haven’t seen a rep of this yet

i'm more than happy. I got 116519LN Noob this with the AP diver are for me the best reps in the business.

The sub LN is now available below RRP on the grey market. Wait list is quite short (1 - 2y max) .

Wimbledon dial is lovely. Not to my taste but I think it will fly off the shelves in rep
