Hi All, Replica Rolex Deep Sea Dweller in which the pearl on the ceramic bezel just clean broke off. I was working on the car when it happened. This replica version has the rolex etched on the glass at the 6 o clock position, so i don't know if it's v3 or v4 and it was purchased from Timesshop.net It does have a ceramic bezel and a small hole where the pearl used to be. Is there any way that I can fix the pearl onto the bezel and if so where can one buy these pearls? Thanks.

Write the dealer (or others) and ask to buy a new insert and/or pearl.

I think I've seen about a dozen posts of people who lost their DSSD pearl. I've never yet seen a post where anyone has actual found a replacement. Good luck with this.

I thought they were indestructable?

on a gmt2c the crystal sits up higher than the bezel insert like every other rolex made, most blunt force slides off the edge of the crystal sliding across the insert hitting the bezel. i have hit mine on stuff hard enough to make indented places in the bezel and mine don't have a mark on it.

a deep sea has the pearl sitting higher than anything on the front of the watch so the pearl takes all the hits. the crystal is sitting flush with the insert. you can see the bezel has a open place under the pearl so when it gets hit there is nothing supporting it. i tried on a gen when i picked up my daytona and it didn't show me much for 10,000.00 including tax. my ad said they can't sell them, nobody is interested at that price.

who told you ceramic was indestructible? a diamond is the only thing harder and they will scratch them and the sapphire crystal.

i guess you could consider them indestructible compared to the old soft anodized aluminum bezel inserts. i would have gone through a dozen of those buy now on my watch but it is fine.

I am not entirely sure if a pearl from a V2 bezel insert will fit in any other insert... But I have a V2 bezel insert and pearl here that you can have.

I have also taken several of these pearls off and re-lumed them and do not see any reason why they cannot be duplicated.

There was a thread somewhere, awhile ago about someone who was taking what I recall to be drill bits of the correct diameter, hollowing out the middle, luming them and then cutting them to the correct height.

When these are taken off and relumed, the clear plastic on top needs to be removed and cannot be used again. So I have used clear epoxy as the clear cover. It is easily added over the lume, does not effect the color and has a shiny clear finish when fully dried.
I dont see why the same process could not be used to make SDDS pearls.
