Quick question for the lovable members of the RWI. I was just wondering if any dealers or any factories actually produce and sell GMT's with the Correct hand stack. I understand these are Replica's but it seems like a pretty simple fix, i'm ready to order a GMT from WBK but I have yet to receive word from him confirming that the hand stack is correct.

How much do you think that will cost, i'm looking to spend $200 tops. I might just have to go with a submariner

Hey zocker, I was actually wondering about this myself, do you know of any specific TD's that sell the watch with the CHS or do most offer this upgrade?
Thanks

You should buy the Watch and take out the Movement and Place it in the New Ceramic :)

but before Spend a Lot of $$$ in things that are Not soooo visible i would do other things ;)

that's an GMT how i can looks like ;)

The incorrect hand stack is pretty much the last thing anyone will notice on a GMT rep.

You can buy a correct hand stack movement but they're notoriously unreliable, why risk it when the incorrect hand stack version can only be noticed for about 15 minutes a day?

Please note, you cannot "fix" the stack on a movement by buying different hands!

The order in which the hands are stacked on the cannon pin.

Usually (from the top down) seconds, minutes, hours.

On the original GMT Master it was seconds, minutes, hour, GMT. This is how the modified A2836 is set up, so is correct for the 1675.

For the GMT Master II, it should be seconds, minutes, GMT, hour.

Due to this, on the reps, the hour hand covers the GMT hand once a day (at midnight if you've got the GMT hand and the time set to The same time zone), not a big deal if you ask me, plenty of bigger tells out there.

I think it's a pretty big tell considering if you google "how to spot a fake gmt" that winds up being essentially the only tell revealed without the examiner pulling the crown (and maybe date issues). I do, however, like that you've put into perspective that only the scrutinizing and informed would pick up on this for about an hour each day.

Are you guys saying the hands are the wrong style of hand on the correctly stacked gmtii's? A bit lost in the conversation as a newbie.

For me it isn`t about others it`s just about me. I have a attention to detail so this is pretty major in my opinion but I went with a sub ill save the gmt for the first gen I buy

That´s what i say ;)

No one has identify it as Rep... I had this Watch as Gen and have sell it an good Friend... At the last Party where we meet us he saw this Watch on my Wrist, and he ask´d me why i have Buy it again :)
I said him "I missed the GMT sooo much and didn´t wanna ask you if you sell it back to me"

He has inspect the Watch, i must say he is not into the Rep Scene!

He has inspect it and means very nice... Same as mine :D and showed me his Wrist.

He didn´t notice the IHS also he didn´t notice the bigger flaw for me! The Sel Fit is a little to high as on all new Noob Cases. But this i will fix these days.
He had the Watch in his hand and he wear my Old Gen everyday. Normally he must notice the things i had think.
He also knows that i wear Rep and Gen.
So as he gave me back the Watch i told him "Thanks so do you know which Watch you gave me now Back?" he means sure yours had less Scratches.
I mean "No no did you know if you gave me back the Rep or the Gen?"

He hadn´t believe that the Watch is an Rep i showed him the little little differents. We talked about the Price differents and he mean "Why you didn´t Sold me this kind of Watch?" hehe

So what i would say is, if you do an Franken like this you wouldn´t notice it... Sure it isn´t Gen and it has flaws, but i wouldn´t Spend sooooo much $$$ in an CHS Movement that is really hard to source and prone?

Specs of the Watch:

Gen Dial
Gen Cpl Bezel
Gen Crystal
Gen Crown on his way :)

You would notice the color of the plating in the bezel before you noticed the hand stack on these GMT's. The Platinum plating has that color shift ability no rep can replicate.

I did see a tutorial on a painting technique that was extremely convincing, but the color shift is noticed at a further distance than the hand stack.

But, I do appreciate them changing the stack do the GMT had is not covered by the hour hand, especially with the fat hour hand they use now.

Each to their own buddy, make sure you choose your sub wisely though as almost all have bigger flaws than the incorrect hand stack on the GMT...
