Came across the gen in a second hand shop today, €4900, doesn't sound like a very good price but it was in a good shape I must say.

I put it in my wrist and saw quite a few differences with my Asian v2 rep, (I didn't have it with me of course)
1. Bezel turns much "smoother"
2. GMT hand is longer and of a darker green
3. CHS obviously so you set the hour hand on its own, not sure how much of an advange it is though ?
4. Bracelet feels more "solid" over all
5. The Ceramic bezel was protected by a removable plastic "case", odd, I thought it was unscratchable !

Not sure whether the ETA version is the same for 1/2/4...

Yes, what a silly oversight ! You have to think they did it on purpose to get people to buy the more expensive mode, ETAclone (still no known source ?) or ETA. A bit too greenish too.

Looks like there is indeed an "Asian v3'" with a long GMT hand and darker green, bezel looks funny though, for sale here on rg.

I have the Swiss ETA version, it's a really nice watch. One question I have though. Is the GMT hand supposed to move on the rep? I know the date window is kind of broken (the date doesn't advance on its own) on my rep and maybe the GMT hand is also broken?

Oh yes, the GMT hand is totally functional, even on the 21J, looks like yours might be defective :(

Talking of ETA, do you guys think this one is an ultimate version ? Looks v1 to me based on the size of the numbers on the bezel. The owner thinks it might be an ETA clone too...

I guess actually my GMT hand is running, but running really slowly. It's supposed to function just like another hour hand right?

No. It should take the GMT hand 24 hours to make one trip around the dial vs. 12 hours for the hour hand.

The hour hand on my GMT II C runs too fast.

That must be annoying, probably not too easy to fix either.

I've just found the ETAClone version at Pam111 for $229 : http://www.pam111.com/product_info.php? ... ts_id=2500 seems to be exactly the same as the ETA http://www.pam111.com/product_info.php? ... ts_id=2499 he sells for $349, much more than the $315-$20= $295 of watcheden for instance.

Is there any feedback on differences in operation between the ETA and the ETAClone? Since its a rep anyway not sure its worth putting $100 more for a genuine movement, especially if you can't be certain its been checked before it gets shipped to you.
