Was in las Vegas over the wkn. There was a Rolex dealer in lobby of hotel, so I go take a look. I'm looking at Subs when Sales Lady comes over. She says," Why look at Subs when you have one already." At the same time she's looking at my watch. I raise my arm up and tell here to take a better look. When she dose she ask how much I paid. Told her about $75. Then she says, " Too much!" I feel even better about my rep., knowing it took someone who sees Rolex every day a good look to its a Rep.

You're breaking a fundamental law of RWI, mate. You're asking for trouble. NEVER BUT NEVER WEAR A REP INTO THE GEN'S DEALERSHIP. Let's keep our hobby safe, shall we?

Having been on the sh@t end of the stick (buying a rep that was sold to me as gen), I do think there is something to be said for safely testing the quality of a rep by asking a qualified AD to verify its authenticity. That is prudent for any major purchase and won't, IMO, harm the hobby... But might actually improve it. Also, if they can't spt a knwn rep, i know not to bring my next gen purchase to that dealer for authentication. What we don't want are as@holes intentionally going int ADs to be smug. It's unnecessary and insulting.

Frankly, I don't need to hear more from the OP because this story ever happened. No salesperson that worked in a Vegas AD, which surely moves volume, would ever question a sub owner looking at subs. He might have an LN, but is pining for the LV. The story is total BS.

The lesson is as follows:

If you buy a gen, you have the right to get your watch checked.

It is an absolute no-go (and in fact a cross-fora banable offense) to go to an AD and annoy them with a rep. We need to keep a low profile and it does not pay to stir attention. After all, WE are doing things wrong, not them. So it is their right to cause us trouble.

So for the simple minds among us: Don't annoy them, then they don't annoy us.

Dear OP, your holiday is coming up shortly.
