Hey guys, got QC pictures (already accepted) of a RZF Two Tone Datejust 36mm A2824 but the plastic box says GMF as far as I know the box shown on the QC pictures lol
Don‘t know if the watch is really RZF or maybe only the box they use comes from GMF.

Anyways I wanted to share the pictures with you. Maybe it makes the decision easier for someone when he wants to buy a DJ36 two tone for his wife.
TD was puretime where I bought it.
Only flaw I see is maybe bracelet gap to the lugs.
Side links of the middle part is also gold plated what I like.
Date font is nice and thin. Sunburst looks great.
Maybe the glass sits a little bit too high but I have seen gen DJ36 with very high glass aswell so maybe it‘s ok like that.
The stick markers on the dial maybe are too fat but need to see it directly compared to a gen.

Thanks for the pics! Considering buying this one from my TD soon. How's the plating holding up?

The watch looks stunning in real life. QC pics don‘t show how nice the watch really looks.
Plating holds up well. Let‘s see if it still holds up 1 year from now.

That’s a beauty! The date font looks perfect too not like ARFs. Wear it in good health, mate!

Shame that GMF has such a limited scope of models, honestly. They look good but they don't have anything with oyster bracelet, nor silver stick dial. That would be my choice (and probably one of the most popular ones along with the blue dial). I'll have to stick to DJF for the time being as I'm not keen on 3135 clones.

What are you thoughts an the ARF 36mm v3 Datejust?

Thick dw don't but otherwise any major flaws?

What's the best 36mm on Jubilee ootb at the moment? ;)

I’m all set to purchase the v3 arf for my next rep - already have a lovely gen roulette ready to go soon as I find a watch smith uk/Eu based. A lot gets said about the 3135 variants but tbf there not a great deal more to replace than a seagull etc so if it craps out I’m happy to toss it and swap it! Being able to fit gen parts is a huge plus for me as I drift further into modding ootb won’t cut it anymore!

Well you’ll have to get an ETA clone, a movement spacer ring, new hands and either a datewheel overlay or a new dial. You can get another watch for that money...

(and that’s why I stay with DJF)

Sure, if I was going to try and fit an eta 28** movement into the arf case, but I’m quite happy just to buy another sh3135 if the one I get isn’t up to scratch, I was saying that the 3135s aren’t much more costly than a seagull movement so I’m not concerned about having to do a total swap for a new 3135 instead of hassle of repairing one.

Luck of the draw but if I get a year or two after a service out it I’ll be happy, if I get 2 weeks I’ll just replace it and try again. The djfs have always appealed to me too, great reps from what I’ve heard/seen, I’m a big fan of the 28** mvmts aswell, not really had any trouble with them over the years. But this time I don’t want to use dwos etc and am drawn to the idea of a franken with gen parts

My bad, I didn’t understand you properly there. You are actually right, the 3135 have become so ubiquitous that you can just replace it with another one down the line indeed.

No trouble at all buddy, I didn’t make that totally clear to be fair ! Obviously it’s more costly as I would always factor in a service but I can let that slide as I’m keen to make my first franken, got the gen datewheel sat here already, not sure if it’s worth installing a gen crystal or dial (black) too - but the arfs seem pretty solid, with a dw swap the dj 36 is pretty damn close to gen already!

Does DJF also have DJ 36 with smooth bezel? All good Datejusts are with flutted bezel..

Does anybody know why the ARF, DJF factories haven’t released the newer 2019 dial version? It doesn’t have the Roman numerals and has the crown in between the Swiss made at the 6 hour marker.

I know GMF have released this newer version but only the black and blue are current Rolex stock colour version’s available, the white and grey GMF sell aren’t current Rolex colours. Plus GMF are not talked about that much or rated on the forums.

I would like to buy the silver dial version but isn’t for sale by the better rated factories, ARF and DJF. It’s available on puretime by a factory called EWF with a 3235 movement. I asked Andrew from trusty about EWF, and he said they are not the best quality, plus a watch maker on Repgeek said the 3235 movement should be avoided.

Maybe it’s to new a dial for the factory’s to make and release?

This is the newer version I’d like to buy.

Plating holds up well. Let‘s see if it still holds up 1 year from now.

How’s the plating on your watch holding up after a few months?

My TT BP DJ36 has turned to a copper colour after six months! After 3 months half the bracelet turned copper, after another three months the other half has turned copper as well! Just waiting for the bezel to turn copper now!
